Are they sibilant with female vocals? My K240 is a bit sibilant to my ears, i need something smoother and non fatiguing.

Not in any way or form, I have both, and the MA900 is much nicer up top and has no sibilance at all. The sibilance on the K240 is why I decided to get the MA900 despite how much I adore the K240s sound signature, I have not regretted the decision one bit.

Never!!! however it gives the hint, if recording is sibilant. For me AKG K240 is just a way worst headphone, hollow vocal and flabby bass

That's what an underamped K240 sounds like, it's a different animal with a good system behind it. I don't find the vocals hollow nor do I find the bass flabby when it is properly amped, underamped I notice hollowness in vocals and ill defined bass. The K240 is a pain to amp, it's very power hungry, easily the most power hungry of any headphone I have owned, it needs a lot of current. My only problems with them when amped is some sibilance and some lack of extension in the sub-bass. They aren't as good as the MA900, but they become surprisingly good with a good system behind them. I still like them a lot and they will be a permanent part of my headphone stable. While the MA900 is the better headphone in most aspects, the K240 does do a few things better.

Woahhh! The MA900 looks like an interesting headphone! Just wondering, for those who have tested AKG K550/PSB M4U1, does the MA900 does everything better than those two headphones?

I like everything about AKG and PSB headphone and might be getting either one and then I came across this thread xD

AKG K550/ PSB M4U1 vs Sony MA-900? Best closed and open headphone under $300 compared? Anyone hehe xD

Billson :)

How's the top of the headband pressure on these? I can usually only tolerate wide suspension headbands or AT's wing system, while something like the Beyer headbands give me an instant headache at the top of my thinkbox :frowning2:

Have tried K550 and MA900, different kind of sound sig, one is bright while MA900 is warmish, very similar to HD650.

these are really light weight.. you won't notice anything unless you are bald or something .. btw top of the headband has the same cloth material as the ear pads .. and there is no clamping pressure at all .. its like wearing nothing .. probably the most comfortable over ear headphone out there ..
