Got a pair of Z1R, coming off some solid time with KSE1500 and Nio, these are quite colorful, but in a good way 😄

I ordered a set of AZLA SEDNA XELASTEC in MS/M/ML from ebay, pricey at €56
For tips? That's absurd. I just bought six pairs of tips in two colors for €20,-, and I got two IEM's on top. :D

Hearing very mixed things about the Xelastecs TBH; quite a lot of people don't like how sticky they are and find them finicky to insert because of it. The cleaning routine doesn't sound too fun either. I really like how they look, but IMO they would have to do wonders for the sound to be worth it, which tips just don't, unfortunately.

Agree the tops are sticky, but disagree about the effect tips have on sound. It can be have a big impact

at this rate of tip rolling for IEMs, based on the amount of $ spent, might be better off getting a custom ear tip. Better fit and potential savings in the long run. Only thing is it doesn’t give different flavour with tip rolling but you get good isolation.

Tbh, I have so many tips roll on the Z1R. Xelastec has the best foward mids out of all type tips I have tried.

Did someone say tip roll? :scream:

I can't see ever getting customs as I really enjoy experimenting with tips (and cables) to get the sound the way I like it with my gear.

are those adapter for 4.4mm to 2.5mm?

I think the one you're looking at is the 4.4mm to 3.5mm TRRS. That allows me to use my cable on either output of the WM1 players as well as on my older ZX1 and ZX2 players.

(edit) unless you're referring to the PW Audio cable which does have 4.4mm male to 2.5mm female.

is the zx507 enough to power these? does anyone use this combo? ty

I notice slight increases in dynamics (sq) going from mid to high gain (8 to 12vrms) on my kann cube so I would say no 😂 not to their full potential anyway... one thing that I can’t really get my head around is how difficult these are to drive to their full potential.
