Nope, you just need to have the right size, the size longer, and smaller. If you like deep insertion, go half size smaller than your usual. For me I have no problem with the fit. Not the best fit that I have, but quite sturdy and provide great seal (because of the latex umbrella material). perhaps 10/10 sound quality as per details, imaging, technicalities and timbre. And about 8-9 /10 fit for me.
The problem is you can't try them, and buying lot of size of them are expensive. They come with 2 pair of the same size, so 1 box is either L and L, or M and M. you have to buy 2 boxes to try the right size for you.

@dennarwhal Yes they made the Z1R mids little bit forwarded (for those that feel Z1R mids too recessed, I'm not btw because of our JPOP genre that female vocals are already forward on mixing), and that superb imaging.

I think everyone with Z1R should try this, really worth a try, again I dont have any connection with Pentaconn, just share my humble experiences.

If you order from MTMT you can get two sizes. Mine came with a small and a medium small. But you're right, you can't get an L with any other size. Anyway you conviced me to try them again. I'm liking what I'm hearing so far, although they have come off in my ear a couple times(probably due to being on Monarch 2), so I need to get some of those little nozzle adaptor thingymabobs - anyone know some that fit Z1R?

Edit - actually I suppose I can just make some with some old unused tips.

Pentaconn Courier on Z1R isnt that sturdy (the Z1R nozzles are small) but they still fit well and dont need adapter. I use mine without adapter.

i have the Campfire Audio Mesh IEM Bag. It feels a little too small for the relatively large ier-z1r.

is there an alternative - the same style of mesh bag but with large pockets.

They make a bigger size too. I have CFA bags in at least 3 sizes, perfect for Z1R.

link? I find it only as uni size.
If you're ordering direct from CFA, ask them about sizes. It could be that the newer bags are just made bigger than the older ones. I got a 5-pack recently and all fit the Z1R comfortably.

OK, I will ask them.

Hello everyone. I’ve just purchased the new SpinFit W1 tips to use with the Z1R and from what I’ve experienced these do not play well together. The deeper fit of the Z1R plays against the strengths of the tips meaning the pivoting system on the tips makes it near impossible to get a seal.

Just as an FYI in case anybody here was thinking of getting those tips.
i bought them and actually i have to say - at least in my case - they fit very well.

the sound is great plus they don't move as they are sticky.

here are the details - they are made for large iems like the z1r :-).

FEATURE

  • Double-layered core:
  1. Outer softer silicone keeps SpinFit signature comfy wearing experience.
  2. Inner harder silicone makes W1 more stable when the ear tips are installed on earphones.
  • W(wave)-shaped design:
  1. Reduce the pressure from outside
  2. Enhance the noise isolation function.
  • Recommend earphones style-Multiple drivers and big dynamic driver earphones.
  1. W1 fits perfectly on big and heavy earphones due to the stability the design gives.
  2. Compatible with the same earphone groups as CP145.

Spinfits are my go to. I think xelastecs are maybe slightly better but once they start deforming after a few weeks they become hard to use.

Glad to hear they work for you. I use mine, medium, on my Xelento IEMs and they fit just fine, maybe even better than the original oval tips they come with.
Maybe I can give them another shot with the Z1R, who knows, it might just be my lucky day.

Had a set of Feaulle H570’s delivered yesterday, thought I’d give them a whizz mostly for Z1R, I went for the medium size as it’s nearest to the large supplied tips and my other go to’s Sony EPEX 10A…they looked a little small on first inspection but when fitted they have a nice tight, grippy and deep fit on the Z1R’s…my first few test tracks Kate Bush : Moments of Pleasure and John Martyn : Couldn’t Love You More....they deliver a nicely balanced replay, none of the frequencies seem to overpower any of the others, great detail and separation too…impressed I am, lots more listening to be done over the weekend 👍
