SONY IER-Z1R

Is there somewhere I can buy replacement triple-comfort earbuds like the ones that came with the IER-Z1R? Other than scouring eBay for some? Also, has anyone tried balanced vs unbalanced with their IEMs? I was considering upgrading to a Modius/Magnius stack to see if it adds any extra clarity to it, but don't know if its even worthwhile.

Basically as I understand, as you pulled the cable out, the male pin detached (cable end) and stayed stuck in the female part (mmcx socket on the IEM)?I used a very small flathead screwdriver on mine ..... was very tough and i bent the screwdriver in the process ... everything is peachy now though (except the cable of course)

The OEM cable has a second brass ring around the male pin for some reason, and that is what detaches from the cable and gets stuck in the socket.Basically as I understand, as you pulled the cable out, the male pin detached (cable end) and stayed stuck in the female part (mmcx socket on the IEM)?

Exactly right ....
There you go... that's the little bugger after being extracted and shown next to the stripped left pin

Too bad I've already got both Z1Rs
Tempted by M9s but not sure they're different enough from Z1R to buy.

How do both Z1Rs compare please?
Pretty similar I would say buy the little ones have better highs and wider soundstage. However, the cans go deeeeep and haaaaard !

Now if only Australia was so much closer to Canada lol
That price for a brand-new DMP-Z1 is very tempting... and so is that M9.
