Is there somewhere I can buy replacement triple-comfort earbuds like the ones that came with the IER-Z1R? Other than scouring eBay for some? Also, has anyone tried balanced vs unbalanced with their IEMs? I was considering upgrading to a Modius/Magnius stack to see if it adds any extra clarity to it, but don't know if its even worthwhile.

I used a very small flathead screwdriver on mine ..... was very tough and i bent the screwdriver in the process ... everything is peachy now though (except the cable of course)

Basically as I understand, as you pulled the cable out, the male pin detached (cable end) and stayed stuck in the female part (mmcx socket on the IEM)?

The OEM cable has a second brass ring around the male pin for some reason, and that is what detaches from the cable and gets stuck in the socket.

Exactly right ....

There you go... that's the little bugger after being extracted and shown next to the stripped left pin

What a weird construcrion. Perhaps to make the male mmcx thicker. I dont know if this affects only new batches or also older, my IER-Z1R has a serial # that lays some qgere into the 4150s

I got serial #10106 and that cable broke, my replacement was #10105 and is completely fine.

From what I see, Sony Japanese website recommend me the Sony EP-EX11 as replacement eartips
