I imported mine from Japan only recently and it came with the excellent square (round corners) hard case with the rubber magnetic cable tidy thing. I'd be disappointed if mine had come with one in the photo. Was it a sealed package ?

I'd say they must have lost or kept the OEM case and put that in instead maybe ? Does it fit perfectly in the cut-out in the main box ?

Seems strange they would change the case, but you never know. Maybe a dumbed down case outside Japan? Yours Certainly seems to fit the cut-out exactly.

Did yours not come with the rubber/magnetic cable tidy part either? The hard case also has a magnet to hold the rubber tidy in place.

Yes, so you got that? That has a magnet embedded and holds into the hard case which also has a magnet. Take it that soft case has no magnet. Looks to me like lost or damaged original case and managed to find that as a close good size.

Been racking my brain as I was sure I'd seen that case before. Its the case that comes with a Sony XBA-N1AP as can be seen in this unboxing video

yes it was in the soft case, anyway not that important, was just a curiosity, maybe I'll take a peli case. My main concern was about the legitimacy of the iems.

By the way I'm loving the m9 with metal and again not boring at all!

I've used the solid Silver one that came with my Fiio-FD7 which is a great Litz cable. Can't say I really notice any difference so stick with the original. Original cable visually fits best in the recessed socket too.

I have a lavricables silver that I used with dorado, I'll try some a/b, but yes, as you said the original is the best aesthetically

Fiio equivalent silver Litz is about £100 beautifully finished and nothing wrong with it. I've got about 4 Fiio cables, two of them silver.
