Tried these on my home setup, scale ok, kids pop a little.
Had a few friends try them out for a day or so, universal praise generally with the only bugbear being the cable having a locking mechanism as it makes using 3rd party cables tricky.

Hey asteroid,

What do you mean by "kids pop a little"?

Also, because they use a 4-pole TRRS 3.5mm connector for the headphone input, your only option (to my knowledge) is to use one of Sony's own upgrade cables like the one below, but I'm not sure if it will fit properly.

Does the MDR-10RC cable work (because that cable has a standard 3-pole TRS 3.5mm connector)?

Yes the 10rc cable with no remote works fine, never tried the remote one.

Nice!!  That means you should be able to use any standard 3.5mm cable as a replacement/upgrade, as long as it properly fits inside the earcup's input recess.

I'm actually interested on these but knowing Sony, prices might plummet in a few months to $120 or so... Will wait.

I just ordered a pair of these (blue) from the Sony Korea online store along with a NW-A25 walkman (also in blue). I'll post my thoughts when they arrive. I don't currently have a portable listening setup so I'm pretty excited to see how they stack up against my Audinst HUD-MX1 USB DAC and Sennheiser 598 that I use at home.
