If you own the A15/25 Walkman you can kinda lower the bass by eq'ing up all the frequencies up 1 notch.

The bass is there independent of the lowest frequency channel.

If I still had my A15 I would get these, probably made for each other. Certainly the A20 where they are even colour matched.

Does the new model have an EQ preset for the 100? I thought it was strange the old one didn't for the MDR 1A.

For that price you can't go wrong with them.  To put it in perspective:  In most places, that's about the same price OR CHEAPER than the ATH-M50x go for.  These headphones, however, kick the ever-living crap out of the M50x

I think Armin Van Buuren should endorse these instead of the Philips A5-Pro lol. Cause I gave his new album a listen on these and I am pretty impressed (of the performance of the Sony) tbh. (although I do prefer his older material)

They BY NO MEANS require a powerful amp, if that is what you are getting at.  Your typical phone or laptop can drive them just fine, as can any and all DAP's.

I find them to be less harsh with a powerful amp.

Maybe they are too powerful at stock xD
