Is this just a hobby or can someone send their customs to you to do the wood work.  Looks like you cut/shave the faceplate and replace it with wood.

To my knowledge you have to send in the type of wood pre-finished to your specs, and than they but it out to fit the ear molds. People have used carbon fiber, and i was thinking, but never did, little lights...

Theoretically, "Yes" praticality, "No."  Often time while attempting cut off a face plate, the shell cracks, or a wire gets cut resulting in a total re-build. Another problem, is acrylic dust/powder will fall in to the shell while cutting off the face plate, and cleaning that out perfectly is not an easy task.... if not impossible.
Then, you have shell color not really matching the face plate. If the colors kind of coincide, it is no big deal, but if they don't go together at all, I think the end result would yield poor satisfaction.

So ultimately, the answer to your question is.... "No."

I build these from the ground up, I do not purchase CIEMs and replate them & I have never considered that as an option....  but if the process did not involve cutting off the face plate....
