We agree the noise is electrical and this signal is converted to optical, to get there you need to remove the noise or else you convert it too.
If you can identify the noise and remove it you don't need the optical stage anymore. No one seems to be able to give a simple response to
a very simple question.

I will see if I can clarify your question for you. Although the topic is not new to me, I do not know the intricacies of it all. So I will ask...

I do know that FMCs have been used for years for clean signal, and the changing of the transmission into light vs electrical or other makes a difference. For years, folks have always touted the benefits of "optical out" of products for minimal, if any, noise.

The same principle is at play here, it's not about the 1s and 0s, it's about them being delivered purely and precisely.

The electrical noise would not be part of the digital signal, and would not need to be filtered prior to conversion. It's just electical noise. It would only be apparent if it made it all the way to a speaker to generate hum. You just need a break in the electical path to stop it. That's what this purports to do.

The Ethernet ports are galvanically isolated so humming from mains grounding is almost impossible to occur. The noise we're interested in is the EMI/RFI that can pass through the galvanic isolation (that's because it's in 100 MHz+ range) and if the clocks on the buffered data must be very low jitter all the way to hundreds of MHz range to hear the benefits

I have a question about this switch.
We are moving into a former office that has been converted into a flat.
Lan sockets have been installed in every room.
There is a technician room where everything is controlled centrally, electricity, heating as well as the internet.
I am not sure yet whether everything in this room is possibly connected to a switch so that Internet can be received in every room.
We have not yet been able to enter the room due to renovation work.
What I wanted to ask now I will have my own listening room where there will be 2 Lan cables, the plan is that I will connect the streamer as well as Pc via Lan cable.
For the time being also with the standard devices I currently use, in case I will have any noise or similar, can the Silentpower Omni Lan help or be supportive in that regard?
I am also asking because if there is no switch in the flat and the wifi will probably not cover the whole flat the Omni lan would then also work as a switch.
The additional effects and functions would be secondary for the time being.
The important thing for me would be a noise-free result from the location where the Omni lan will be located, presumably the technician's room to the media room.

It sounds like the Omni Lan may be a good fit for you in 2 different scenarios...

In your own room, you can experience "private isolation" from everything else going on in the flat. Also, you may find it beneficial to set the unit up in the "Tech/IT" room, so that the benefits may be sent throughout the area. On the webpage for the OMNI LAN, you will also see an optional Rack Mount kit. This was designed for exactly that purpose, as an example, businesses and folks with Home theatre Rooms.

I would first do your own setup, and maybe once everything is settled, perhaps give it a go in the central area.

That external clock function, the specs don't give any details. I assume 10 MHz but what impedance and whether sine/square waveforms does this input require if you want to use an external clock ?

I have asked for you to get specific information.

I would guess that it is 10MHz 75 ohm Sine wave, being I am not aware of switching as the Pro iDSD Signature has on the back. I will post back as soon as I have concrete info for you.

How will this work - so I connect the router to one of the standard Sx ports and my streamers (an Aurender and Laptop) to the two ultra clean Px ports? If I use this will I still need the ipurifier Pro feeding the Aurender?

I recommend the FMC in between your router and the Omni to isolate the Omni from the router optically. On the clean side, you can still add some Lan iPurifier and see if the difference is subjectively better with or without it

No FMC router supports only RJ45. Maybe the ipurifier Pro should be moved to feed the router instead to isolate it. I wished IFI used 5V instead on 9V on this switch so I could use the 5V ipower2 on the current dlink switch.

That's the purpose of FMC which is to literally enable a pure RJ45 router to have fiber optic capability. You insert an RJ45 to FMC then output fiber optic which goes to the Omni switch.
My router doesn't have fiber optic, but I use 2x FMC with fiber optic in between to isolate my streamer away from the router. I also filter out the noise induced by the receiving FMC with NA Eno2 streaming system (2m streaming cable)

The Intellinet is just generic from a local microcenter store. I don't know if it's gonna be better than TPlink, but the biggest difference for me is definitely the Network Acoustics stuff which pretty much improved sound quality very noticeably. The FMC just added a little more black background but the actual sound is definitely from the NA stuff. Since you already have the iPurifier Pro, you definitely don't need the Omni, but 2x FMC Tplink will definitely improve the iPurifier Pro then add the network acoustics muon pro for that finishing touch (it should also make the largest sonic difference). The objective is pretty simple which is to electrically isolate the iPurifier Pro from the router using FMC
