Just for the filters may be to much, they did a real good job with it though. The new colors are amazing, anodized aluminium milled castings. To be honest in real life the jade one looks much nicer than on the photo’sDo you know if there are plans to sell only the filters? I do like the new colors, but I don't know if it's enough to make me want to upgrade.

If I wanted to buy it now, I would definitely choose Graphite!Just for the filters may be to much, they did a real good job with it though. The new colors are amazing, anodized aluminium milled castings. To be honest in real life the jade one looks much nicer than on the photo’s
Was doubting between both, but remembered when I bought my last iphone in graphite I really regretted the choice, boring. should have bought the blue one. So this time I chose the jade version. But regardless, the two colored one’s both look really niceIf I wanted to buy it now, I would definitely choose Graphite!

New on Head-Fi, hi guys! Anyway, I got a gen 1 Shure SE846 (IEM only) from a local seller. Love the sound! Has anyone tried putting the new red filter on the gen 1's (Since Shure says its compatible) and compare its sound from the Blue and White filters? Curious on how it sounds on the gen 1's SE846 even though I think the gen 2 has the same drivers as the gen 1.

Hey, welcome!
The Gen 2 are exactly the same as the Gen 1 aside from some colour options. So the red filter should sound the same in either.
Over the last 4/5 pages of this thread the red filter has been discussed by some of us who’ve been using them in the Gen 2 and comparing how they sound to the blue/white/black.
You might struggle to get hold of the red filters on their own though, Shure said they won’t be selling them as a spare part for the foreseeable future..
Which is actually messed up, if you loose the red one’sHey, welcome!

Hey guys, I have sent emails to Shure in these recent weeks, regarding the SE846 Gen 2.
So basically the main difference between the Gen 1 and Gen 2 are as follows
1. Color Options (Jade and Graphite)
2. Comply Foam Tips (XS size)
3. Filter Options (Extended, the red one)
4. High-res Logo
And the most important thing is, the extended nozzles CAN BE PURCHASED INDEPENDENTLY, IF YOU ARE IN US / CANADA. So you could use the customer support function to ask for its details.
For those who are located outside US / Canada, you may need to contact the corresponding region of Shure. For instance, Hong Kong people may contact Shure Asia Limited.
However, Shure Asia Limited replies me as follows “In Hong Kong, we recommend customer to buy SE846 GEN 2 and there is no sell plan for the extended nozzle. Thank you.”
That’s what you should know and Shure has never told you.

Shure US have said they don’t have any plans to sell the red filter as a separate part.

So what did I hear from Shure US? Did they fool me? LOLShure US have said they don’t have any plans to sell the red filter as a separate part.
I have talked with Shure US in mid-September and early-October. Both their Application Engineer and Customer Specialist have confirmed that it can be ordered from their Parts Department in US and Canada.

Thank you! Yeah, hopefully they'll be released in Asia by Shure. But Shure US said otherwise per checking the latest post in the thread, and folks may be able to purchase the red filter part. Maybe they have a change of mind?Hey, welcome!

If Shure Asia will continue to not sell those red filters for parts, might as well get my shipping forwarder ready and purchase those red filters from Shure US for import lol.So what did I hear from Shure US? Did they fool me? LOL
Here was the two emails interacted with Shure US in mid-September and early-October. I am not sure if they change their mind after that.
Interesting, must have changed their mind - Sean Sullivan was pretty clear they weren’t considering selling them separately when he was interviewed about the Gen 2.
