I like the size/weigth of the 1200 Version, not a big difference vs 1500 but a plus at the end for portability.
I simply can not regret the purchase of my KSE1500 just a couple months back ago, post your impressions and kind of music you hear with it.

I effectively use my KSE1500 as a KSA1500 99% of the time. Line in, -10db in the input pad. We'll see what traveling with it is like.

KSE1200 is downgrade. real downgrade. digital input and digital part is realy good. much more better than analog. More clear and more transparent. DAC and Digital part is realy great in 1500. many people wont hear good sound from analog.

I use Line in as well 99.9% of the time.
Input pad at 0, Limit volume at 20 on the amp in my case, will depend the input pad setting on source.

Analog is not weak at all, is even more impressive than the dac using a good source

If that were true, the device would always be "weak", because the analog section is engaged regardless of internal/external DAC used.
