I am yet to be convinced re the ER6i... The tonality really is not to my liking, sounding bright and thin, but if the E2Cs sound dark, and murky (according to some) its a matter of picking which of the two evils is best...

There's always eBay. Thats where I got my ER-6i's.

true. i just don't know if i can be assured a quality pair if i buy them from there... i will give it a look, though. can anyone suggest any cheap amps ($50 or less)?

go to ebay and search "cmoy"
they're usually $60 and under and theres a selection of which ones look better
