Shure AONIC 50 -

I had tried the ADAPT Epos 660 (a modification of the PXC-550II). The Sennheiser and the derivatives do not approach the sound quality the Shure, except that the artificial intelligence the ADAPT has for the microphone was amazing. The voice enhancements for the headphones are the reason for the ADAPT product, intended for video conferencing and call center use, but it's too bad they added them to an inferior headphone. And they were the most sweat-inducing headphones I've ever tried, with smaller ear openings and cheaper construction.

Can modification be done on the PCX550 not the version 2 as well?

There's no modification possible by an owner. The company works with Sennheiser. The shells and the drivers appear to be pretty much the same, but the guts of the headphone (electronics, microphones, controls) are different. https://www.eposaudio.com/en/us/enterprise/products/adapt-660-bluetooth-headset-1000200
Not saying this isn’t a legit company, buuuuut... if you click on the find dealers you get the following page...:

https://www.eposaudio.com/en/us/enterprise/find-a-dealer

There are an impressive 1366 dealers listed... I bet the good folks at, oh, Microsoft, Alaska Airlines, and Cisco might be surprised to learn they are Epos Audio dealers...

I once had the original PXC550, and while ANC was OK its sound quality is most definitely a lot below the Aonic 50.
Would the Aonic 50 sound be closer to hd600/650

I never liked the HD650 and only had the HD600 for a very short time (quite uncomfortable, no deep reaching bass), so I cannot directly compare them. Overall impression is I like the Aonic 50 very much, so I'd say it's rather different from the HD6xx series.

if your question is about overall sound quality, then yes, the Aonic 50 relates more to the level of quality of the HD6 series than the PXC550.

Aonic 50 sounds like a nice hp. Are they more comfy as well?

To me the Aonic 50 is very comfortable, despite my ears slightly touching the driver covers (which are very soft). Pads are soft and have a wide rim, so no pressure hotspots. But this is something very personal of course...

They can get a bit warm, par for the course on a closed can.

"2112" via the Aonic 50's? Sublime.

Your right I got to try them myself to see if they are comfortable to my ears. Thanks :)

Really liking these, but I have constant drop outs when using. Phone calls are terrible as they keep disconnecting and reconnecting constantly. I’m almost ready to give up on these if I can’t get them to keep their connection. Happens on all 6 types of devices I use from TV, bluesound soundbar, A&K SR25, iPhone 6s Plus, MacBook (newest) and a different iPhone.
