I suspect that people that have issues with the tape also has some problems with other iems due to their earwax being the "wet" type. So the moisture causes the driver to get issues.

Not my case, never had such issue with any of my other IEMs. Also, I live in a pretty dry weather (south of Spain), and try to keep my ear hygiene in good condition!

I think some one told about it in this very same thread a few days ago. Searching for it is a bit tough, though. I'll let you know if I find it.

Anyone got the Nicehck NX7 (stock/Pro) and can compare them with the Tapes ?

I'm currently running the NX7 through the Tempotec Sonata HD Pro & AutoEQ harman 2019v2 target (Equalizer APO on Windows , MusicBee)

would the tapes be much of an upgrade ? or "just" a sidegrade ?

According to my ears, tapes are better in hights and lows.
There is better controle and presence, on lows, with the Tapes
On NX7, hight is brighter, even too much for some.
Even if I have maestro v2 or fearless s8f, I take as much pleasure with Tapes.

Good notice! About time really, consider in China was released in early May.

Now I will wait for any brave soul to provide his/her honest review before deciding! Sorry not brave enough to take the plunge just yet...

I got my Tapes early on and had no issues with build sound etc... I still use them all the time even though if you look at my signature they have major competition from some others. I love the low end, and bought the Shuoer H27 to see how consistently they were tuned. I love the H27s also with its detailed tuning and solid bass when called for!
The Tape 2 and newest version of they’re totl Iem will both be on my list and after owning Tri I3 for awhile now I need a lottery hit to get them all but Tape 2 I hope!
Lots of great sounding higher end offerings showed up immediately in 2020 and I for one love it...more, bring more!

They do look MUCH nicer than the EJ07 IMO, but they still could’ve done better, with some choices.

I think he mean "I Wish"... Anyway the EJ07 is on Sale for 755 on aliexpress, I think this is the lowest price to date. The **** ST7 is on Sale too for 656.. But I've seen as low as 550.

**** is the name of a banned brand. Just Google “ST7 IEM”.
