* At full charge, unit only exhibits 60% charge. It never displays full battery icon, even after full night of charging
Try turning on and off the charging option in the menu a few times, this should solve the problem of not fully charging the device.
I had the same issues with up5.

My Shanling UP5 gradually degraded the wheel fuction: at first the volume stopped decreasing, then I adapted to lower the volume by turning the wheel down with light pressure from the side, then the volume stopped decreasing at all. Is there any way to fix the operation of the wheel? Or is there any Android application that can adjust Shanling UP5 volume?

If your UP5 is within warranty, please contact your seller for repair.
Alternatively it's possible to buy just the wheel mechanism and exchange it.

Hi, i use shanling up5 with xiaomi poco x3 pro smartphone and xiaomi pad 5 tablet.
When connected in the LHDC v3 codec mode (automatic bitrate), there is a crackling and stuttering of the sound. If the codec is forced to switch to the optimal sound quality mode (900 kbps), then the crackling and stuttering practically disappear.
At the same time, shanling up4 2022 works without problems with the LHDC codec in any mode.
I bought shanling up5 only to work with the LHDC codec, but it turns out it does not work very well with it (
What could be the problem? The sound is interrupted by shanling up5 on both smartphone and tablet, even when the devices are within 5 cm.

Will report it to software team.

Issue with UP5 @Shanling

My UP5 now with ver-1.6.3

* At full charge, unit only exhibits 60% charge. It never displays full battery icon, even after full night of charging.
After slightly over 3 hours of use (4.4mm, High Gain, volume 35, LDAC mode), battery alerts begin. Very distracting when listening.

* Edit: New Issue:
After depleting UP5 to zero, I left it to recharge it over night. When turning the unit on, battery shows only one battery notch after charging entire night.

* another edit:
My UP5 from 20% to finally shutting itself off only last for around 20 minutes.

** Battery bar & beeping is not correct and really true.

*** Mic level is very very poor in call mode.

**** Problem with custom equalizer.

I'm waiting for the new bugs free firmware Shanling

Yes, please try this with the charging switch. If it doesn't help, it might be hardware issue on battery, in which case please contact your seller if your UP5 is still within warranty period.

Hello guys, I tested the firmware version 1.6.2, regardless of the volume jumping problem, I think the sound quality, clarity and crystal is about 20% higher
than the version 1.6.3 in Bluetooth mode.

Has anyone else tested this?

While you're doing that, is it possible to find out whether there is ever a chance that the custom EQ function will actually work?

I've not yet read of anyone being able to make this work. It's a make or break feature IMO.
Not sure about this, software team says they need assistance from Qualcomm on this.

Then you should at least announce on your website that this function is not working properly! Because people buy your device because they think it works!

And I still find it so strange that there are reviewers who praise the EQ function of the UP5 while now even you, the maker of the device, confirm it`s not working properly! Just shows that reviewers often do not even try out some of the functions they are writing about.

Another new bug in version 1.6.3,
1. When we are on a phone call with Bluetooth, the rotary volume to increase the volume of the contact is confused and dose not work properly.
2. Sometimes music is played in Bluetooth mode and Bluetooth is connected, but the music does not play. In this case, you have to disconnect and connect several times to solve the problem.

I have one more question for the shanling developer. I have two up5 receivers on hand. One of them with firmware 1.6.3 and I can flash the old firmware 1.6.2 on it without any problems. On another up5 I can't downgrade the firmware from 1.6.3 to 1.6.2 or 1.6.0 for example. Tell me, is there protection against downgrading the firmware version on individual up5? Does this protection come from the factory or do I have a defective copy? On up5 which cannot be flashed down in the column "Version minor" is "0" and "config version" is "1".

I'm not aware of any such protection in our system, but will check with software team on this.

Are you sure the UP5 is set to UAC1.0 Mode?
