Shanling MTW100 - True Wireless IEMs, IPX7, BT5.0 Balanced armature or Dynamic driver

Starting from January 2020, Shanling MTW100 will be available in new V2 version, with few adjustments to touch controls and Bluetooth chip.

This change affects both BA and DD version.

Price stays the same at 89 / 79 USD.

How to distinguish V1 from V2?

Both versions look the same and come in the same packaging, you can only identify them either by checking their user manual or by testing the Surrounding awareness mode.

For V2, which Qualcomm chipset are using?

Which phone and what requirements to be compatible with Realtek direct connection?

Unfortunately I don't have this info at this time. Just some notes that older chips, running 4.1/4.2, are most likely sticking with M/S connection.

Are these changes done in the hardware or software?

If they are in software is there any way the V1 can recieve the update via a firmware update?

I just got my BA MTW100, works great and I'm pretty pleased with my purchase. But I'm wondering if it's possible to pair it with my phone and laptop at the same time.

I can't seem to find a way to enter pairing mode again.

EDIT: Nevermind. I just turned off my phone bluetooth, put the earbuds back into the case and took them out. They entered pairing mode shortly after.

It's different hardware.

MTW100 doesn't support two connected devices at the same time. Same for both versions.

First some cred for this great TWS. I bought my MTW100 BA in the beginning of november and like them a lot. Great SQ with an open sound, crisp details and just enough of a dynamic bass. Connectivite has always been quick with good reach.

Even so after a few weeks they started to act up when it came to connection. Different issues as to left earbud suddenly losing connection even when close to phone. This could be solved after doing several factory resets. At one times both earbuds lost ability to pair together and could only be connected individually. Both left and right could connect but not as a pair. I almost gave up but after multiple unpair, reset, unpair and reset they suddenly found each other. Even so one issue remains and that is when making calls they enter mono mode right. When phonecall is ended they stay in mono right mode and left earbud needs to be inserted in case and removed to reconnect in stereo mode. As I remembered this did not happen in the beginning.

Have you encountered this before and is there a fix since its quite annoying, especially the times the case is not directly at hand?

I thought that streaming audio directly to each earbud is only possible with "Qualcomm TrueWireless Stereo Plus", is it not? Is it some other official Bluetooth feature or some hack? Some manufacturers like Samsung may have proprietary extensions. Streaming to multiple devices is only possible with the new Bluetooth LE Audio, but we will have to wait for that. So I'm really puzzled about this direct connection feature.

I own MTW100 and I like it a lot (I got it from shop in Germany in just 2 days).

Received them at the beginning of last week. Was a bit afraid they lacked bass (BA-version), but they really sound good. Way better soundstage than my MPOW T5/M5's. I'm pretty pleased. I thought I had a problem with charging, but there were little transparent films stuck on the connectors. So after I removed them no problem.
I listen to a wide range of music.
And I can still use them when I lay my head on a pillow

I did the same thing. I was aggravated so I bought another pair on amazon. Found those wouldn't charge either. Sent them back, now with an attitude. Upon careful observation, I found the offending plastic. They are pretty good to really good.

If you are facing such issues, please contact your seller for replacement pair.

When resetting, it helps to do it following way:
1) Reset left side.
2) Reset right side.
3) take both of them from case and hold them very close together for first pairing.

I was told it's some different Realtek Audio chip that offers this.

Just tested out a version of these that use 4 taps to activate surrounding awareness mode. Is that the V2 version?

Hello!
Version BA.
I have been using it since 11.01. 2020.
Checked with Samsung (A6 +, s10e), installed player - poweramp, hiby.

There is a problem!

About once every 20 minutes (+,-), the left earphone loses touch with the right one (First, the sound on the left is muted, then on the right, then a message sounds that the headphones are connected together), and then restores. Reset to factory did repeatedly. Honestly speaking .... (((

- Reset MTW100
1. Remove the previous Bluetooth connection from your phone.
2. Restore the MTW100 to factory settings, Factory reset :
Turn off Bluetooth on any paired device.
Take single earphone from the charging case , tap touch sensor four times and place it back into the charging case .
Repeat for other one.

Any chance to try with different brand of phones, to make sure if error is in earphones or something going on with Samsung connection?

[QUOTE = "Шанлинг, пост: 15416846, участник: 422159"] Есть ли шанс попробовать с телефоном другие марки, чтобы убедиться, что в наушниках ошибка или что-то происходит с подключением Samsung? [/ QUOTE]
ipad 2018 also happens ((
