Guys have a question- i started using Tidal through the UAPP again and there is something strange happening on my M8.
I chose the HiFi abo to avoid MQA crap from Tidal Masters that caused an overheating of the player. So i should actually stream lossless in a classic CD quality. I even chose Lossless option in UAPP, not the MQA.
So on the bottom, below the cover pic it shows 44.1 kHz 16 bit and for example 938 Kbps.
But on the top it shows 352.8 kHz. Why? Seems like the UAPP is umpsampling but i have bit perfect ON and upsamling OFF.
The problem is that the M8 gets very warm which wasn't the case when I was using Apple Lossless in 24bits.
Any ideas?

Linsoul strangely unaware of one of the main selling points of the M8?
 Yeah, not sure about that communication. Best to take the photo, before they like sell you inner 4.4mm socket from M7.

The M8 immediately detects the sampling rate of a file. In Apple Music, it will give me the correct frequency at the top even before the Apple app itself is able to parse the bitrate/frequency of what it is playing.

What I suspect is that Tidal is mostly not feeding regular FLAC CD quality files anymore in the Lossless tier, but rather high-resolution MQA files that the Tidal app then downsamples to CD specs. So the M8 detects the MQA sampling rate, as that is what it receives originally, but just for the first millisecond, then Tidal gimp that MQA like savages, as an arbitrary downgrade, a restriction on purely commercial grounds, and almost a punishment for not playing along with the MQA scheme.

Yes, I sent them a screenshot of the musictec website. Hopefully that cleared up any 'confusion.'

Listening to the M8 with the Monarch 2 with Final Type E tips and all i can say is that the M8 is very very close to the M9. Huge, 3 dimentional soundstage, extremely detailed, smooth and linear treble (Shanlings trademark) but all this is slightly darker and more natural, analog sounding than on the M9 which was more reference in its tuning.
Everything is so effortless and natural, the music just flows.
@Shanling what about the M8 Ultra
