So I found a workaround.

I turned on Mobile Hotspot on my Galaxy S22 Ultra , set it to 5ghz, WPA3-Personal . Made sure WiFi Sharing is ON. Now its a MAX speed.

The Tidal files are flying down from the cloud.

Looks like I also need to go buy a new WPA3-Personal + WiFi6 router.

what about transferring files by usb cable or inserting the micro disk into a reader. i assume those speeds are normal -- correct?

I haven't tried USB, but I assume it transfers files just fine. Micro SD appears normal. I am using 256GB Lexar 1066x

Another option to try until a fix is in place. They say it works with Android.

Is your WIFI download speed really slow? I tested with the Ookla Speed Test app and only got 6 Mbps max. Also, 3000 Tidal offline file downloads take days.

I use wpa2-personal on 5ghz, I’m not having any problems

In your opinion which sounds better M11 Plus ESS or the M6U?

I'm undecided between the two. I listen to House (EDM), Drum & Bass and Hip Hop/RnB music, so deep bass is a must .

WPA2 Personal with AES in the most supported standard. Running WPA3 and WPA2 at the same time is known to cause slowdowns on some Broadcom chips. Try WPA2 Personal with AES (only) on your router and see if it improves, can't hurt to try...

WPA2 Personal with AES is what i am running. My router does not have WPA3. Also, all other devices run as expected on WPA2. So the issue is with the M6 Ultra software.

I have WPA3 on my phone as a mobile hotspot with WiFi sharing. The M6 Ultra works fine in the senario.

I will use the workarounds until Shanling can fix the issue. Thanks.

The M11 Plus ESS, Hiby R5 Saber and M6 Ultra are very similar sounding in a quick test.

You can' got wrong with the
Fiio M11 plus ESS, it a solid, great sounding device with good features. Plus, it's cheaper than the M6 Ultra.

It's hard to say at this point.

Bluetooth audio (Tidal in car) sounds magnificent using the M6 Ultra. I compared against the Hiby R5 Saber.

They really do sound similar over Bluetooth (great bass), but the M6 Ultra Highs and Mids sound a tiny bit cleaner.

Can't wait to get my Helix HEC BT HD module. AptX & aptX HD!

You do realize that with bluetooth you are bypassing both the DAC and the amp and just using the DAP as a transport (and using the DAC and amp from the car). Your phone will work just as well and sound exactly the same (if using the same BT codec).
