Not sure. Seems market for higher priced devices pretty much demands Android.

Thanks for the response. Really appreciate the candor. But devices like the Lotoo Paw 6000 with Single Chip and private OS are selling for $1200. If you came out with a Touch OS, great battery life and your proven architecture / sound signature I'd be all over it. I can stream anything from my phone so I for one don't care about android on a dap.

Yes, you might like it. Few other users too. Even I personally would be happy. And maybe that's enough for Lotoo.

But feedback from our distributors, both international and Chinese, current evolution of market, even sales of M5s, all are unfortunately pointing in opposite direction.

1. Yes, you can use the EQ in the music apps while using Bluetooth connection.
2. Most likely yes.

In the next round of the M6 Pro app/software development, can you negate the requirement for location (gps) data for Synclink to function, on the server device (smartphone).

The GPS just drains battery on my smartphone. Hopefully a workaround can be found, as the Sync link is useful, imo.

I'm interested in the "Android Global Lossless Output" - does this work for 3rd party apps on the device too, e.g. Tidal?
I hope it means that if we connect an MQA-enabled DAC, the unfolding of the MQA master tracks is done by the DAC?

Much to my surprise, I am suddenly hunting the DAP market for the first time in years (I am still rolling with the A&K 120ii I bought late 2014/early 2015). I was actually prepared to blind/impulse buy the M6 Pro, but the official U.S. re-seller (from Shanling's site) is out of stock, LOL.

This bit of reprieve allows me to check out other options more thoroughly, and also to button-down more information about this device.

**To fellow Mac users: does the M6 Pro play nice in macOS? I'm sorry, I just have zero pre-knowledge about Shanling as someone who has been out of the audio game for quite a while. I am used to using Android File Transfer to load my 120ii with music and built in wifi for updating (not that I've had to worry about new software/firmware in quite some time as this is a older device).

Location permission is there only for Bluetooth scanning function, it's demand of Android system.

Otherwise the app is never using it, you can turn off location services completely and the synclink will still keep working just fine.

Yes, AGLO works for all third party apps.
Yes, with USB MQA DAC you should be getting full MQA when using M6 Pro as digital source.

We got quite nice demand for M6 Pro, some some sellers managed to run out of stock. Next run is coming in July.

M6 Pro is running standard Android system, so for data transfer it will act as any other Android smartphone.
Firmware update can be done over Wi-Fi directly and even if you use computer, you only need it to copy file.

Thank you @Shanling . I think I've talked myself into a purchase once the official U.S. re-seller has more in stock after your July production run noted above. Guess now I'll also have to look into new IEM cable; I've never bothered going balanced, and the "new to me" 4.4 standard looks interesting. I'll need to learn/re-learn plenty over the coming weeks.
