@Shanling, even after many firmware updates and resets, the play control buttons don't work on first press after the screen has turned off, even when audio is playing. Sometimes I have to press it up to four times to get one press to register. The average number of presses to get the track to pause, skip, or rewind is 2-3.

We are not able to replicate this issue, and I don't remember anybody else here reporting such problems.

As such, I can only recommend to contact your seller for warranty replacement.

hi Shanling, I'm receiving my M6 in the next few days (international vesion), I went to this link and there is no instructions how to enable Google Play store, just some general guidelines to update the firmware, is google play now preloaded?

Play Store is not pre-installed. You can install it from APKPure store that comes at default on M6.

managed to move my Spotify library to store in internal space and still get random stop during playback, it should rule out the SD card problem right? @Shanling any thoughts?

Nothing really, not a common problem with M6.

You downloaded Spotify from Google play or some other app store? Is it running latest version of the app? And latest version of M6 firmware?

As always, you can try to do factory reset of M6 and see if that helps.

upgrade my M6 to v3.0, factory reset everything, install Google Play from APK Pure, install Spotify from Google play, actually just updated the Spotify w/ Google Play this morning as well.

also I'm seeing random cut off from Spotify when the M6 is disconnected from the Wifi, but it will never happen if i keep a constant wifi connection.

hi all, received my M6 and these are my first impresions comming from a Fiio M9 anf IEMs Fiio FH7.

- at first sound was bloated and bass was all over the place, weak and extended.... not sure placebo but let it play troughout the night and in the morning things changed: sound is superb, I´m ready to compare A-B with my Yggdrassil and tube pre-amp, M6 provides a texture, warmth and detail as my home set up. can not be sure yet.
- shanling music app sound best, has a function I really use: from the play screen go to Artist or album. but unfortunatly no SACD DST.
- Tried Neutron, very complicated and the look is just form the arcade era. otherwise seems a very powerfull app. I need to speend more time.
- for the time being, my default app is Hiby, is playing my SACD...

Something weird, the 2.5mm balanced input is very tight, very... I almost broke the connector. fortunatly I will now be using the 4.4mm with my FH7.

Overall, very happy with sound quality which matters most, and made perfect companion with my FH7. loking forward 64bit implementation and SACD DST support from shanling app.

I do not think this M6 has global EQ, I think some one mentioned on this thread before...

- SACD DST playback. for the time being I´m using Hiby; but sound quality is not optimal, best SQ for me is the Shanling app. So I`m playing all other formats with the stock player. This is a real pain... most of my music is FLAC and MP3.

- Gapless on shanling app.

- Android 8.1 or 9.0, 64b maybe, less urgent not sure tangible benefits, may the look and some google security improvements.

I went I tried other apps, Neutron and poweramp, never got Neutron to play to my satisfaction, sound is akward, so I`m left with Hiby, sound quality is OK. I´m a bit dissapointed that a DAP in this segment is missing these important features.

I´m may be putting this M6 for sale, is not a rounded package; looking into M11 pro and R6 Pro, both support DST, and I have a very positive experience with FiiO music app.

Hope the shanling team come up with a firmware that makes this a truly all around player, soon....

Been searching for some answers for Tidal and MQA on M6 but couldn’t really find them. Hope you can advise.

1. Does the M6 support MQA? If yes, until what level and through Shanling music app or some other

2. Can it do Tidal offline?

I’m considering M6 or the FiiO M11 pro. I like your output amp stage implementation (dual DACs for single ended and additional AD8397) but the seems like the FiiO is able to support MQA.

1. I do not think M6 supports MQA; I have not tried tough.
2. I do not use Tidal, but what I have read is that you can do off line listening.
