Lastly, can someone describe the process to transfer files to the dap via WiFi? This is not addressed in the manual.

1. Connect device to local Wi-Fi and go to Wi-Fi file transfer in the system settings
2. Open internet browser on your computer and put there the address shown on M2X/M5s
3. Copy in the files as you wish

Hard to imagine it’s that bad sounding but in any case I ordered one and I also have an M5S coming from the Linsoul summer sale. We’ll see how they stack up against each other.

Hows the Blessing 2 sound with the M5S btw?

I would say Shanling's dap is the perfect match for moondrop's iem. They pair really well, tho m5s tends to give warmer & rich signature than the m6 for me. But since b2 also more in the neutral bright signature, it will balance out.

Just got my M2X and it sounds excellent to me. After I get the M5S I’ll have to decide which to hold onto.

Only issue I’ve had is I can’t connect to my wifi.

It may be that the m2x only supports 2.4ghz and my network is 5ghz.

Does the M5S support 5ghz? Also, does the M2X have any features that the M5S is missing?

Lastly, I really wish that the “Play All” option wasn’t in every artist folder. It would be nice to have a toggle to turn that off from always being there. I just want to see a list of albums, not albums and “Play All”

M2X and M5s support only 2.4. You would need to go to M6 to get support for 5g wi-fi.

In features M2X and M5s are same, difference is in sound quality, output power and battery life.

Are you sure you don't have a dual-band router? I've never heard of one that only has 5 GHz and not 2.4 GHz too

I do have both but it’s possible I’ve only got the 5ghz band being used right now.

It's easy enough to turn the other one on - you can use the same SSID and password if you want, or not.

1. Is the cpu/ram in the M5S any different from the M2X? Is one faster than the other?

2. I'm using a 256gb microsd card, and after I put it into the M2X the first time it updated the library, which took several minutes to scan all the files (11,000). Each week I usually add a few albums to my DAPs. After I load new files onto the M2X how should I rescan/update my library without it having to do a full update of these thousands of files every time? After I added one album today and then ejected the M2X it immediately did a full update which takes several minutes.

Can you try different browser? But for me firefox works just fine.

2) Use the "specified folder Update" for this, it will scan and add only files from selected folder.
