Shanling M3X Portable Player - Our smallest Android Player

Hope you are all doing well! I have a question regarding the Shanling M3X as well as playlists coming from iTunes on a Mac (apple music app). I am still a newcomer with this device. For my wife, she will have several playlists made through iTunes with thousands of songs she bought. However, when I go to export the playlist from iTunes I am unsure of the file type I should export. They give you a few options but wasn't sure if it was good to use m3u or m3ub or unicode? Also, once exported, how do I go about bringing the file type for the playlist so that it is compatible with her music library on the M3X? I have seen through searching that I'd have to go through the text file and do a find and replace to correct the path, but also where do I place the playlist file? Also, when I export a playlist made on shanling music player, it exports it to the playlist folder but i cant seem to find the playlist file on mac or windows as if it was never created. How do I view it? Any tips or thoughts would really help. Thank you.

Hello, I'll be very grateful for some help please 😃 with my M3X.

When I use it as a usb player with the data going from the usb port to my external DAC, sometimes after a few songs the player reboots and I don't know why? I've only just started using it as a usb player and it happened for the first album I was playing but not the one I'm listening to at the moment so it may not be a problem with the player.

When I'm playing albums I notice there's a silent gap when it goes from one song to the next, is there any way to avoid this?

What's the difference between usb disk mode and usb dac mode.

Edit
The player is rebooting with another album as well. It may be happening between songs so it could be related to the gap between songs.

No, I confess I didn't search. I should have. I'll do that next time. The player was on its way out I think. I ran the battery down yesterday and now it's not charging and won't turn on. I've had it on charge for 5 hours and there's no light and it feels cool to the touch. I've tried different plugs and different cables. Is there any way of getting it to turn on? If not I'll give up on it.

This might help, maybe while connected to power ??

Please try factory reset and run it without any 3rd party apps installed, if it will be doing the same.

Does it happen at all when using wired headphones, not USB DAC?

I'm really embarrassed I said this because it wasn't actually connected to the plug!! Haha! So it's charging now.

P.S. I was tired and woke up to see my player connected to a usb cable and not charging. It turned out that was the cable I was connecting to my DAC before I fell asleep. I tried another cable but it didn't seem to work, perhaps I didn't give it long enough.

Easy done, I have waited hours for a device to charge thinking there was a fault only to look down and see the plug at the wall switched off.

I tried the factory reset and without 3rd party apps and it still happens.

No it's not happening with headphones.

I'm using a 1.5tb micro SD card, could that be the cause?

It's happening a lot, every couple of songs or so, in the middle of songs.

No, card would have zero impact on its USB output.

If it's happening only with USB output, it's possible some incompatibility with your DAC. Please what DAC you tested?

@Shanling I just saw this. Anything different with the old M3X aside from storage and ram? It's still on android 7 but does it have plans on updating it to a higher android version?
This is version just for Chinese market and the only difference is the slightly bigger memories. Otherwise they are identical to normal M3X.

Our software team is unable to provide update to higher Android version.

Greetings, friends!
For some reason, Poweramp is playing extremely quietly on my M3X player.
For example, to reach the volume level of 12 of the installed Shanling player, I have to turn up the volume on Poweramp to more than 60.
Perhaps you have good experience and can recommend settings or presets for Poweramp installed on M3X?
