I tried both m2s and m3s. M3s is more refine sound, maybe bit too critical. Maybe it's just me, but something about the brightness vs clarity argument. Changing the LPF to slow made a slight difference. Prefer my song to be more warm sounding so less fatique so I changed to m2s, I almost got the lotoo paw 5000 unfortunately no aptx on it.
Yup. Probably the ones that are very warm like mee m6 proIt definitely sings sweetest with a warmish IEM.

I'm using westone W30. It's not the warmest, quite bit of sparkle in it. I think that's the reason it output such. What are you using?

Give yourself time with M3s. I too found it pretty bright at first. After acclimating to it's sound signature, I'm finding it quite pleasant and definitely not overly critical.
Regarding M2s vs M3s, they're different sound signatures for sure with M2s having a more fun sound while M3s is the better because for more serious listening. The Shanling M5 is still Shanling's standard for smooth, mature sound.
Regarding PAW 5K, I'd recommend avoiding that one unless you really, really need Parametric EQ. It's sound just can't keep up IMHO.

Lucky I didn't get PAW 5K, the implementation of the player is one of a kind anyway. I have a feeling I might get a m3s on top of my m2s.Give yourself time with M3s. ThanksDepends on what you're looking for sound-wise and size-wise. If you'd rather have a more fun type sound in a smaller package, M2s. If you'd like more serious sound, balanced output, and more battery life, M3s is the better choice for you. If you want more serious type sound in a smaller package, then you need to look elsewhere.
Hoping that helps. If not, feel free to PM me and I'll try to help you out. I've tried a lot of DAPs, so I could probably help steer you towards a good DAP that meets your needs.
ThanksI listen to a variety of genres at it's most extreme sides. Etc, rock, metal, trash metal, edm techno, hard techno, jazz smooth jazz, fusion jazz, then goes all the way to neo classical and acoustic. It needs to a good all rounder and not too refine.
