Shanling M3 Ultra - New Update for our Compact Android Portable Player

Getting quite fed up with the m3us inability to deal with outside apps. Can't get any outside eq to work. This is rapidly becoming a dealbreaker. I am 1 step away from binning this thing and getting an ibasso dx180.

Anyone have any bright ideas on how to get any 3rd party app working? I have tried 4, none of them work which means it's not the apps but the device, or some sort of setting.

The ONLY idea I have is based on experience with UAPP. If it is set to Bitperfect, none of your system wide 3rd party sound manipulations will work. Your player needs to use the Android sound system to make use of those EQ's etc.

HiBy found the best solution I have seen so far (system wide PEQ and other sound enhancements). Now my HiBy R6III has replaced my M3U as my daily driver.

Cheers

Dear Shanling,

I recently purchased the Shanling M3 Ultra, and it sounds great.

However, there is a problem when using the Amazon Music HD app.

The physical play button on the side does not respond, (pause or play music), when the app is displaying.

The play button works fine when the display is sleeping and using Amazon Music.
The play button works fine when using a different app, sleeping or otherwise (The Shanling app works fine).

I have firmware 1.07.

My main source of high def music is Amazon, so this is a potential deal breaker.

Do you have any suggestions?
Is there any development on this bug?

Did a a quick check, the friendly people at flat eq are asking me to shell out 14.99 a week after a 3 day trial. I am all for paying the developers but this is a bit steep.
Wow! Didn't realise they were charging that much for the app! I paid $6.99US in August 2023 for a lifetime PRO subscription. Maybe they will learn that there are limits to what people will pay and lower the cost. I would check back in a month or so as it seems the pricing scheme seems to vary.

I have been able to get Flow EQ link to work as well. I had to make sure "Global Mix" was turned on to get it to play nice with Tidal. Right now they seem to have a special for lifetime premium sub for $1.99US. I have also been able to get SpotEQ31 to work as well, but I think they charge $2.99/mo for all the features...

So I am contemplating purchasing an M3U, in the UK. I've noticed it's for sale on AliExpress for less that what retails for, here in the UK. However, I've never purchased anything for AliExpress before and don't know if it's trustworthy or not.

Is AliExpress legit for purchases like the M3U and would I be covered under Shanling's warrany, etc?

I got mine from HiFiGo, much cheaper than I could find in the UK. I have used HiFiGo several times with no problems. They have an Ali store, but I have been using their own website. I like how their list price includes VAT, and free shipping on orders over £100 (if I recall correctly)

Thanks for that. Do you reckon Hifigo will be ok for warranty issues?

I took also mine from HiFiGo one year ago at a very good price (around 370 Euros). As said they pays also for VAT and custom fees.

Be aware that tomorrow the Double 11 promotion is going to start, being the most convenient sale period of the year. You will have also shipment for free.

I don not have any information about warranty...may be you can check directly on their site.

Have a great day!
