Thank you for purchasing our M2X.

Can you please tell me which firmware version are you using? This incorrect battery indication sometimes showed on earlier firmware. Current version is V2.7.

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't know what FW version it was on when I initially charged it. I unfortunately forgot to look before I updated to FW 2.7. I think that the battery may have showed 99% after the update, which is the first thing I did after I unplugged it from the charger. I'll see what it does the next charge.

In Playlist menu, just click on export playlist. That will export all playlists to special folder. Keep it in that folder and then just click on import playlists.

Hi,

OK, I did this. Then I reset my player to factory settings. Now, when I go to "playlist", the playlist name is there... but when I click on it it says "no songs found".

My library is updated and all the same songs are there.

Is there anything I can do? How can I get the playlist to list the songs again?

When I open the file on the computer I see that it has a size of 0kb.

So... I guess the songs didn't save to it, is that right? Is there any way for me to revive this playlist?

Did you import the playlist after factory reset? Can you open the playlist file from micro SD card on your computer and check it's al there correctly?

I imported it before the reset. And I removed the card before the reset,

And when I open it on the computer it has 0kb of data. But, it is there... I see the playlist name, and its a file. When I check the properties I see that it's a M3U File (.m3u)

You should export it ebfore the reset. Then reset. And then import it back. It serving as simple backup, as with reseting any system/device.

You can open m3u file in notepad.

I actually did export it before reset, reset, and then imported it back. Thats what I meant to write.

So... when I try to open the file in notepad, I get the message "The file or directory \_explaylist_data\ is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility."

When I try to copy and paste the file (either the playlist file itself or the "_explaylist_data\" file) from the micro sd card (which is in the shanling), to the pc, I get the message "An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file. If you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this problem. Error 0x80070570: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable."

So... is there anything I'm doing wrong, or anything else I can do? If the file is corrupt, is there any possible way to fix it? (Currently I cannot even copy and move it off the card...)

Thanks!!

You can try to use Card reader, if it would be possible to get to the file that way.

Thanks. OK, I took the card out of the player, put it the pc (in an SD card adapter) ... same situation. I can open the file, cant move the file, the computer says its "corrupted and unreadable". I also tried putting it in a zip file but it also wouldnt allow me to do that.

Is there anything else I could try? I could reformat the SD card I suppose. I dunno.

Not sure what happened on your unit. Seems there is nothing to be done to save the original playlist file.

I tested export / reset player / import multiple times on our players, without any issues.

Hello,

Thank you for your help.

So... I did factory reset, a couple of times. I also reformatted the microSD card, a couple of times. I also created new playlists. I also updated to the latest firmware, 2.7.

After the first factory reset, when I would turn my player off and on again, it would always restart on the same song, again. When I deleted that song, it began to restart again and again on another song,

Now, after another factory reset, when I restart my player, it never remembers the song last played, and always restarts on the "Life is short, play more" ad. (I set Resume Mode to both "Track" and "Location", but it doesn't restart on a song either way.)

So, I think clearly something is wrong with the player. As I mentioned earlier, it couldnt export the playlist without deleting the contents (as far as I can tell), and also, it cannot remember the song to restart on.

Otherwise, though, the player sounds fine, great as usual. And everything else is working well. So the issue really is centered on the problem I had with not being able to export the playlist without deleting its contents, and also not being able to remember songs on restart (or always restarting on the same song) problems. I guess it must be the same problem, whatever it is.

What do you think the problem might be...? WHat's the cause? Is this some kind of issue that you have encountered before? If you think it's fixable, can I send my unit to you to have it fixed, or is there anything else I can do? (The one thing I haven't tried is using another microSD card, I would have to get one. Do you think that would likely fix the problem? I did reformat this one, and also searched it for errors. It seems fine but?)

Thank you!!

I've been using the M2X a long time, I do have a usability suggestion to make. I have extra large fingers. And I often miss the "yes" for turning off the M2X. I accidentally hit a little to the side of it, so it assumes the answer is no. And then you have to press the power button again to get it to come up.

I think all it needs is to be good bit larger font for the yes text. If it's 8-point make it 12-point for the text. So likely an easy usability fix in a revision of the OS.

Anyone else experience this?

Yeah, I've also found hitting it awkward. So what I was doing was going for the long press to shut the unit down. That was causing some or all of the issues I was having above regarding not remembering the last song played as apparently that's an emergency shutdown. Anyway yeah, I agree.

@Shanling, I think that cel4145 has a great idea re: increasing the size of the font for the turn-off option. This would also help those of us who have mild vision problems, so I hope you all will strongly consider his suggestion. Thanks.

You are right. I didn't even think about that. Having larger yes/no options would help me if I didn't happened to have my glasses on. That's a really good usability reason to change that.
