Shanling M2s custom firmware v3.50 by Vortex: link

- English and Russian language strings was corrected (by gLer and Vortex);
- Highly optimized graphics, fonts and binaries for maximum speed;
- Music Library limit was increased up to 30000 songs;
- Resources playground in SD:/res folder (unzip res.zip);
- New contrast Theme 3.

Hey Xvortex,

Thanks for making this firmware :)

I have a question, can I delete the res folder from my SD Card after I have updated the player and still use your custom theme? Or does the folder need to remain permanently?

Cheers :dt880smile:

@Shanling was the issue with Sennheiser Bluetooth headphones ever resolved on this model? I have some PXC 550’s which I would like to use with this.

All problems with Sennheiser Bluetooth headphones pairing should have been fixed with firmware V3.4.

Is there an option for this DAP to turn itself off if left unattended for say an hour? if I leave it on pause can it turn itself off to save battery?

You can turn on Auto-standby in settings. That will put it into deep sleep mode.

Auto-shutdown was removed in older firmware update and never put back in.

The scroll wheel is broken on my M2s because of a small accident. It works just fine but I can't seem to select a song to play it. Is there any way I can re-program the left side buttons as up and down movement keys and middle button as selecting and middle button on long press = pause ?
Can you please help me Shanling?

Not possible to reprogram buttons.

You can purchase replacement wheel from our partners at Shenzhen Audio https://www.shenzhenaudio.com/shanl...bettery-for-m2s-hifi-portable-mp3-player.html

I'm trying to set up my M2s as an external USB DAC for my PC.
Do I need to install any specific drivers in my PC?
What are all the settings that I should change or affect the output in my M2s for it to work as a USB DAC?

I believe you do have to install the "M2s_USB_DAC_Driver" - http://en.shanling.com/download/54
To enable USB DAC operation, go to System Settings, and switch USB to DAC.

Yup, that'll do it. But, depending what OS you're on, it could change. Linux or Mac can run driverless. If you're on Win 10, one of the updates from the past few years supposedly added usb2 support so theoretically you shouldn't need drivers either. Last I tried that route it was kind still of buggy and I'm not sure if MS has fix it yet. I would still recommend installing the drivers though, just to keep things as trouble free as possible.
One problem I ran into using my M2s as a DAC was a constant ticking unless I upsampled my audio stream to DSD. Shanling was able to confirm the problem, but it was very system dependent (happened on some computers, not on others) and couldn't figure out a solution
