Reporting another issue with M1S regarding Bluetooth connection:
I was able to connect BT Headphones (Focal Bathys and BW PX8) but with Earphones there is a common problem: both iFi Go Pod and ATH-TWX9 the connection is established but the sound only comes out from the right channel (on both earphones) !
Latest firmware V2.5 is installed.
I got the ifi go pods and don't have that issue

I know this isn’t a IEM channel but I’m specifically searching some for this player.

Should be in the range between 200-300€/$ can be slightly above too.

I’m really looking for good texture and thicker sound plus most importantly for instruments and vocals.

So far I’ve come across:
Simgot EA1000
AFUL Performer 8/5
Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite
Blessing 3 (heard they are a step weaker)

Any recommendations which path to go?

Performer 8 is definitely highly regarded (I haven't heard it). You might want to open this can of worms on the Discovery thread, too.

Same, I tested ifi go pods before and were working fine.

@Audiophile PT Can you maybe try factory reset on the go pods and pair them firstly with M1s?

Can you send us in PM more details on your setup? Will check on it

Does it support CUE and audiobooks?

Thanks...

Cue support yes.

No support for audiobooks.

Recent purchase of M1s - decided to move on from my trusted Sony NW-55 and wanted something very portable with great sound. The M1s hits everything I wanted and the sound output is excellent. Looked thru this forum and didn't find content specific to one issue I'm having. I almost always use wireless earbuds as I typically listen to my music while working outside the house or while I'm sitting in a casino (I use different wireless earbuds in each instance but have had this issue with both sets of BT earbuds). I keep the player, especially while outside, in my front right pocket. The issue is the occasional drop of the BT signal while I'm listening. It comes back automatically but can be annoying given the player is less than 3 feet from the earbuds. Is the position of the M1s in my pocket something that I need to be concerned with? Don't know where on the player the BT hardware is or even if it should make any difference. I am on firmware version 2.5. I'm not entirely sure but I believe I updated the player from v2.4.

Not a deal breaker in the least but more an annoyance but wondering if there are any suggestions to anything I can try to rectify the issue.

Thanks in advance.

Don’t have this issue at all. Tried a dozen Bluetooth devices and the range was more than enough and never dropped, only far away. I’d say - weird.

Could you check to select the right Bluetooth codec or one step lower?

Thanks for the suggestion - I need to take a look at which codec is being used. Haven't had much experience with having to select one over the other so time to learn a bit more.

We are dealing here with few things:

- M1s is simply not as powerful on its Bluetooth antenna as you would have on modern smartphones, so it can affect it a bit.

- Different Bluetooth headphones are also different, some might work fine in almost all conditions, others will start having dropouts even on more open roads. This can happen even with phones.

- Different Bluetooth codecs have differing demands on quality of signal. Typically LDAC HQ being the most sensitive.

- By having the M1s in your front right pocket, your body is acting as a shielding. It would be especially prominent if your headphones has Bluetooth antenna on left side.

All your points make a lot of sense. I have the BT setting at LDAC (auto) and haven't yet tried other settings. Also need to pay a little attention to which codec each set of earbuds work best with. Need to spend a bit more time playing with the options.

Thanks for the insights.

Can anyone confirm the M1S cannot act as an Airplay receiver? It’s been sort-of confirmed by the rep in this thread’s early pages but did the seem completely sure. I just tried with my M8 and it works fine, hence my question (I’m considering the M1S as an upgrade to my Qudelix/a smaller companion to my M8).

There is compatibility issue with Apple TV, as that one demands Airplay 2 system.

M1s works fine as an Airplay receiver with other Apple devices.

Thanks that’s good news.
