Is there an advanced manual for M1S available? Or only for M0?

Agree - an advanced manual for M1s would be very helpful.
The gain issue on Line Out is a little more complex than simply more is better. When feeding an amp with a non-logarithmic volume control you can end up in the very early stages of the volume control range and my understanding is that some amps have less accurate channel balancing until the volume control is pushed higher.
Would be good to have more in depth information on the DAC, USB Audio and Line Out stuff.
Also, I notice when charging the M1S, it turns on as though expecting data from a PC, then I have to power off for it to show the charging screen. I agree with other posters that having an approximate display of how much the battery is charged would be useful. It doesn't have to be accurate down to the % point. But for me, so far the battery status is the one main weakness of the M1s' UI.

Line Out is fixed at 100% - at least that what I thought. If you have amplifier that has issue with channel balance, just run M1s at like 50% volume out and it should be better.

If you look at that thread - this was all stuff I had to ask on forums and via internet searches (i.e. the kind of stuff that should be in a manual):

Oh, and while I'm here. If I want to create a playlist and import it.
The structure on exported playlists (m3u) =
A:\Folder\track.flac
So I create the playlists I want on my PC and place it in the M1S playlist export folder.
The M1S imports the playlists no problem and can read the tracks and play them. But it fails to properly scan / read all the meta data (even though those files appear in the library and all their data is present., Any idea why the M1s is not properly picking up the meta data on imported playlists when it can find the tracks from its library (where the data is all present) ?

Source: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...-imbalances-at-low-volumes.14276/#post-438004At low volumes, the signal input voltage is dropped over virtually the entire length of the resistance tracks. Making two tracks (L/R) identical, especially when they are attempting to create a semi-logarithmic relationship in the material (resistance vs rotation) is difficult. It's amazing they work as well as they do.
The reason for the imbalance at low volumes on dual logarithmic audio pots (volume controls) is that at low volume settings, one degree of shaft rotation causes very little change in resistance. At higher volume settings, that same one degree of shaft rotation causes a much larger change in resistance. It is difficult to accurately screen on the resistor ink uniformly through the entire range of rotation, and tiny errors on the low end of the pot cause much larger volume variation than the same amount of error would at a higher resistance portion of the track would, because the same error represents a larger percent change at the low end than it would at a higher setting of the shaft.
Just got it.Buttons on the front panel? I wonder how easy will they be to use, especially with DAP inside the pocket.
I would prefer a bigger screen with buttons on the side.
Ah, another Porta Pro lover! I run with these dorky things! But, they are the best throw away headphones on the market PERIOD. I have the M0. I was thinking of getting the M0 Pro, but now the M1S is calling my name. I would like the bigger (screen) size, but is it too big.?. I'll have to glue a clip to the back of it, though - but big deal!Headphones in my collection that this DAP sounds amazing with:
1. Klipsch HP3
2. Koss Porta Pro
Consider trying them out if you love this DAP![]()
On its own, the M1S is thick yet small. It's certainly light enough for a clip-on type of setup. However, I found it too bulky for a DAP-->DAC setup with my Chord Mojo 2.Ah, another Porta Pro lover! No update on Tidal.@Shanling any updates on TIDAL support ?
What about the playback of DSD + .cue files, it's already fixed ? (the player can recognize the .cue file and split the DSD file on to tracks ?)
