Shanling M1 Plus - New Generation of Compact MTouch Players

I don’t have M1 plus anymore as I sold it quickly, but I remember that to make it working with my dc elite it must be switched on and connected to usb dac in the order. If I not mistaken it was only working for me when I turn on player first then connect usb dac. When I switch on player with connected already usb dac I had problem like you. As I wrote I don’t have m1 plus anymore, and can’t check it but try play with connecting sequence and see if that make any difference.

Thank you pietro77. Worked 1st thing this morning. Without your help I’d still be going in circles. )-; I’ve read good things about that dc-elite and the rohm dac chips. Perhaps my next purchase. Maybe try a factory reset, otherwise we do not know what might be causing this on your unit.

Shanling, I am a creature of habit, new to the dap world. Somewhere in my brain, having the discrete components connected b4
powering up, is just the way I’ve been wired to function. This is something a bit different and my hardwired brain will need to adjust.
Thnx 4 listening and attempting to help. My digital chain is modest but not unusual, Gustard ddc, vmv d2 dac, ock-2 clock. Connecting
b4 powering is how a Roon server/nuc or such is done. It’s all I’ve ever known.

Shanling, or anybody, new dead end problem. Dap will now not read the micro data cards. Did a full reset, still won’t read cards it has read previously.
What now? I’ve a half dozen cards loaded w/songs and the M1Plus will not read any of the cards… help. )-; got one that works… What? What could have
happened? I didn’t swap the cards over the last week or so. It just stopped working yesterday when I went to take the dog for a walk. Now it’s like the card
Is too large to read or something, it starts to do its little circle graphic but immediately stops, I just put in one of my initial 64g and it seems to work fine…

Try a freshly formatted card, if it will work fine.

Got my player last week. little nice devise with stunning sound. I am wondering if you are planning to make alphabet navigation across the autors as well as you did in "all songs" category? It would be very handy.

As been already mantioned, the scrolling is a bit discomfort. It kinda lacks inertia in the movement.

Also I have a problem with searching. When I go to "all songs" category, type my request and go to the "artist" folder it shows the search results, but when I tap on the chosen artist, the program shows me an empty folder. I attaching photos for your reference https://imgur.com/a/rwCtmv0

Alphabetical sorting for other categories is on wish list to our software team, can't say anything more about that.

For the search, I tried that on my unit, not able to replicate this. Can you please send us in PM more details on this, maybe even the exact files to test?

This M1 plus device has a serious issue staying connected or connecting to Airpods 4 Anc and Airpods Pro Gen 2 , not with Airpods Max however.
What happens is you connect , you hear the song , but if you pause and press play bye no more sound , or if you skip , then you have to reconnect continuously and switch between SBC and AAC to make it work again for a song until the next one comes in and again no sound. Please fix this as i am thinking of returning the device.
I really want to keep this as im in love with it , please fix this with an update or something.

I am enjoying the M1 Plus, and I appreciate it for its value proposition. That being said, is there any way @Shanling can improve the equalizer? It's more or less terrible and very limited.

Unlikely to see any update to the EQ any time soon. The current one is quite limited, it would need a brand-new implementation of different EQ system.

besides all the quirks i named already i have to admit, that soundwise specially for the money and size its very satisfying. after a while i even stopped using my ibasso dc elite as i like the overall tuning and presentation of the m1 plus even better. only thing i could ask for would be slightly more soundstage depth. but as i said for the price and such a small device its still ok. since my original usecase didnt work i am using it for tidal streaming with my headphones of choice plugged into the 4.4 straight. no other device. at least until i use more demanding headphones, than the m1 plus is used as a hasslefree transport via usb audio into my dac of choice. finally im fine with the buy
