I would buy M1s with more powerful battery
Ah, yes I should have been more specific. I meant a new model eg. M1s as Bachankas was alluding towards. I noticed that the M2s, M3s, and M5s are coming out this year so I'm excited for a possible M1s. It took ~2 years for the M2S, but sooner is always better. It's had loads already hasn't it? I checked the Shanling site and they've released 7 firmware updates since last October.
Or maybe I misunderstood you and you meant a new model?
I remember somebody asking the same question a little while ago and the answer from Shanling was that, as the M1 was the most recently released of the first generation (about 11 months ago?), a new model wasn't imminent (or words to that effect).Ah, yes I should have been more specific. Cool. I'll try the M50x with it next.IMO this DAP likes V-shaped sound. Both MA750 and M50x make great synergy with M1.
I assumed that he meant it likes a headphone with a v-shaped sound, not that it had a v-shaped sound itself.Fortunately I've never heard any V-shaped DAP and the M1 surely is not one:

I have been comparing it to other DAPs and I really like the sound quality. In addition to the spacious treble end, the bass seems very tight and controlled. I don't really like trying to describe sound in that manner but the bass lines on Dream Theater albums sound more precise on this player than some others I've tried.
It is definitely the best player I have for electronic music/ambient-style music and for technical heavy rock too.
Does anyone know if/when the M1 would get an update?

I don't know, but it's very possible as some advertise comparable up to 2TB, others don't as there is no such size available.Could @Shanling (or anyone I guess) answer if the M1 can use the new 400GB TF that's about to come on the market from Sandisk? Thanks in advance.

Brilliant. Fingers crossed. Cheers!Once it comes to the market, we will get it and test it in our players. In theory, it should work just ok.
