Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

@Shanling : Can I use the Anker PowerPort Atom PD1 to charge the M0? Thanks for any input (no pun intended).
M0 requires a 5V USB power source.

Anker PowerPort Atom PD1 is a 5V USB power source.

Warning! Being on the CUSTOM 2.4 firmware and while fiddling with the headphone jack and simultaneously adjusting the volume, the volume jumped to 100%. I think there is no hearing loss but my right ear still hearts a little.
I immediately returned the player to THE OFFICIAL 2.4 firmware and cannot reproduce the problem for now. I will keep trying to reproduce it the whole weekend and will inform you.
Please let us know if you had the same problem and under what conditions.

Sorry for shouting but this is serious and we need to find if the issue is software or hardware ASAP, I think.

Happened 3 or 4 times here with the original firmware - very unpleasant. Luckily, I was able to pull out my IEMs quickly. After that I set the max. volume to 40/the default volume to 20 and everything's fine now.

But I think the device could do more to protect us. For example, the line out mode stays activated after turning the player off. You can easily forget this setting and risk hearing damage at the next start. The firmware should deactivate line out mode automatically when shutting down.

I'm not able to find any specification on website of Anker, but I assume it will be able to provide standard 5V 1A signal (which should be written on the bottom of charger) and so will be able to charge M0 without problem.

If device would be turning Line Out off after every use, people using them with external amps would be complaining they need to go to menu to turn it back on every single time. It's always hard to find one solution fitting to all users.

Marketing materials were made at different times, full support of receiver mode wasn't available in beginning and was added with firmware update.

Currently receiver mode supports SBC, AAC and LDAC. There might be one codec support added in firmware update.

Please be aware we are limited by hardware used in M0, so while some codecs can be added simply by software, others would need different components.

Hi Shanling rep - are you able to confirm whether the additional codec support that may come to the M0 in receiver mode is AptX? Or can you confirm that AptX can't be added to receiver mode because it would require a different chipset (ie. it is a different codec that may be added to the M0)?

I definitely would not want to keep resetting the unit to line out. I suppose you could give people the option of having line out be set to never, always, or on demand.

Unfortunately this is limited by hardware, not possible to ad aptX into receiver mode.

Anyone notice lag with their M0? Wonder if future firmware updates will make it smoother.
I noticed it while at the gym, when swiping right to get to main menu, it just has this ghosting, or considerably slow effect. Not all the time though.

Anyone been using the Armband? I noticed the top is not fixed or locked in.
i would most likely use on my wrist so it wont be sitting upwards to avoid falling out.
Leather/Pleather loosens up with time, so I'm concerned.

Right now i'm using the plastic clip and it sits well, but with any little force or vigorous movement it does fall out time to time.

My aptx Denon speaker still puts the M0 into receiver mode.
I mentioned this right from the start and it still happens.
I have to reboot to sort it out.

Your speaker will be also sending BT on SBC, so that's probably what M0 is picking up.

Wy you need to reboot? You can exit receiver mode by simple swipe to right.

Can be caused by many things, like BT, Hi-Res files, etc. In the end, it's just as any other device we use, sometimes processes going on will slow down system for short time.

Cheers, thanks for confirming!

(Curious - it already has SBC, AAC, LDAC, and it's not AptX...so it's LHDC (HWA)?) :p

I will just say, LHDC can be added via software update.

A long shot, but would it be possible to add the ability to view the album or artist list/folder of the current track from the now playing screen when listening on shuffle? A swipe action maybe, or a fourth page on the quick options, a long press on the song title?

It's just something I miss from using gone mad on my phone.

Unless I am misunderstanding your request, you can do that. Swipe right from now playing and then you can keep swiping right all the way back to settings.
