Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

Is there a way to "hold" the M0 at least such that the on button (the only button really) doesn't automatically do things until you do something like hold it down for a while or double click it? I have had it change things like the status of repeat by having it accidentally click it while it was in my pocket for example.

It connects to bluetooth headphones but requires you to press play, wait, then press play again? Is there a way to have it only need you to press play once?

Sounds a lot like what my wife typically asks me, resulting in me staring blankly at her.

@Shanling would it be possible to have the alphabet scrolling list with the folder browser?

I'm using this now rather than artist browse.

at least until the odd track swap issue is resolved and an "artist album" option in My Music is available.

Hoping to have both in system soon.

@Shanling Could you please let us know when can we expect the next firmware to be out and if the Custom EQ is part of that firmware? Any more information on Custom EQ will be highly appreciated such as how many bands of tweaking, etc. Really need the EQ soon.

We have now EQ on M5s, just need some changes of UI and can be imported into M0 soft.

I have read somewhere that xiaomi is gonna acquire the m0. Is that true?

M0 is available in Xiaomi stores in China.

I can only recommend getting either less tight pockets or leather case.
When the BT engine is starting/connecting, system is slightly delayed. That's what might be causing your need to double click play.

Do we have M3U playlist file import on M0? If yes, where do the playlist files need to go and what is the file path that needs to be used?

No playlist import in current version. Support of external playlists will come in future update.

@Shanling - You still have a great scope for differentiating the M0 against the Hidizs AP80 - Replay Gain (Track and Album).

Any device with Replay gain is the true device for fitness enthusiasts, not a step counter (that's for fitness wannabes :))
Most wanted features for me:
- replay gain
- support of external playlists

Yes replaygain a definite for me and I actually forgot about external playlists so count me in for that as well. :smile_phones:

So EQ, replaygain, external playlist support, and Shanling mentioned in the new M5S thread that audiobook support on M0 a possible future feature. That is quite the list of features still to pack into the little fella. Hoping most of it comes on the next firmware update, fingers crossed.

@Shanling does m0 output bit perfect digital out via usb

Not sure about timing of DSD DOP fix.
Yes, it's bit-perfect.

The M0 has the EQ active when playing files - by this i mean you can switch on the fly between EQ OFF and one of the EQ types whilst playing the track. This means it is unlikely to be bit-perfect. For bit-perfect, the EQ would be completely disabled and have no effect. EQ set to OFF and disabling the EQ are NOT the same thing.
Could you please ask your engineers to implement a proper source direct bit-perfect mode as currently the USB sound quality is not as good as it could be.

Has anyone come across any soft silicone cases for the M0? Thanks.

Doubtful you'll see any 3rd party cases anytime soon. You've got the leather and plastic clip case. Recommend the leather as the lesser of two evils.
I find the leather and plastic clip case, especially the former, to be disproportionate to the cost of the M0. Cheap silicone cases from AliExpress for my Apple TV remote, Sony A15, Sony A45 etc only cost a couple of bucks and they’re the sort I prefer

While your preference is nice and all, you're talking a low volume product in comparison that isn't on the radar of these Chinese mfg's. The biggest cost is to make the mold. Then they churn out cases for pennies. Little volume = no return on investment, (ie: covering the cost of the mold). Unless Shanling sees the value in it to make it an OEM accessory, your two choice are what they are.

I am on firmware v2.1, does anyone know how to set the time? After I selected the time in the clock, I hold the screen for 3sec to get out, but the time didn’t change... any ideas ?
