Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6
May 23, 2019 at 4:01 AM Post #5,131 of 6,413
Hi there, the reason i requested to sort playlist by name because i am using this player to teach Group Exercise classes and i have named my song with prefix of track number (01-10) for each song from different releases so i won't messed up with the sequence if i added them not in order. And there is no way for me to move the song sequences up and down.

For example, this is how i can do it in my mobile thus i hope to have similar feature in M0 too

I see. For now I can only recommend to put these songs into dedicated folder and use folder browsing.

I am. I use Soundpeats Truefree+ upgraded TWS bluetooth earbuds and when connected with AAC I just get no sound.

Problems shows only with AAC codec? SBC works alright?

Currently using the new powerbeats pro on AAC.

And they are louder with other BT sources?
Also, are you based in European Union?

Good to know I'm not the only one. Maybe if they didn't shoehorn their potential customer into such a small sample size. Not everyone is in a forum. In fact the percentage of users that care enough to go on a forum is quite small. Sometimes people just expect a product to work how similar products have worked over the years. Go figure.

Group ex classes are also the reason I need a cue function so the track stops at the end and hitting play starts the next track. If I teach spin or an HIT class, it's continuous. If I teach my lifting class, I need it to stop. Since that's a majority of my use right now, my M0 collects a lot of dust as I've given up on finagling a waterproof solution for swimming, and my IconX's have local storage for running. Just supported an igg campaign for a waterproof version of the IconX's for swimming. Then I can ditch the Sony headset too.

Ideally, we'd both benefit from the phone app for making and arranging our play lists. Shame it doesn't seem to be a concern at all. Well over a year and no Eta in site for it is really blah.

Yes, SBC works but sounds like... SBC sounds. :)
The Truefree work with AAC with other sources.
Funny thing is SBC is much more capable than what we see. Sadly, mfg's have chosen to set it up at very low quality. At least that's what I read when researching codecs in the past. Theoretically, SBC can support around 300kbs when AAC tops out at 250kbs. But we don't see anywhere close to 300kbs when using SBC. Poor implementation. Would probably be less clamor for regular aptx if they maxed the capability of SBC.

Still in works, no update or estimated date of release right now.

Just feels like a typical empty campaign promise. Use it to draw people in, then shelve it with no real intention of bringing it out. 15 months in and no update or ETA for release. Sorry, but that's just sad. Probably one of the few times I bought something based off of the promise of a future update. Thanks for reminding me why that is a bad idea.

Keep in mind QCY isn't really making a quality product. It's the bottom of the barrel chipset, most likely Airoha. Comes with all the issues most cheap China buds come with. I could've picked up a pair for $10 during the Chinese new year.

No problem pairing it with my Mac and iPhone and using AAC though but on the M0 it is only SBC which has sound. Cheap buds or not, it seems like the M0 is a bit picky on AAC pairing over bluetooth.

Same as my QCY T1s. So it is obvious it is a problem on the M0.
Maybe, maybe not. I consider the Soundpeats are identical in construction to your QCY T1s and possibly use the same chipset, so eventually there is an incompatibilty on that end, but who knows.

I don't have a real problem with SBC as the Soundpeats don't sound that good and I use them mostly outside. But they seem to have some frequency bumps where the SBC-artifacts show more prominent depending on the music type (classical or acoustic jazz sounds terrible). I think it's not a question of bitrate but of the low complexity of the codec in combination with the step down in cases of bad connection.
On the other hand - why should I use the M0 with bluetooth - seems like casting pearls before swine... I really like the sound of the analogue section with wired iems. For Bluetooth, I use my smartphone which should make no difference soundwise.

Will report it to our software team.

Bit louder on iphone x, I’m in usa

Will try to have a look into them.

I was asking for your location, since we found out some BT headphones have limited volume in EU due to local laws.

Why Shanling doesnt response that ?

Some functions are simply set in way we believe are best and fitting most people, unfortunately we are not able to offer settings fitting every single user.

You are incorrect in your assumption.

It's unfortunately case of software that gets bigger and bigger over time, getting connected to more and more products, building up list of features it needs to contain.
List of needed functions right now:
- Remote control for DAPs
- Playlist manager for DAPs
- Remote control for UP2 Bluetooth receiver
- Signing up to Chinese music streaming app
- Fully functional music player

I think there is talk it also should work as remote controller for Music Streamer.

Now it's up to software team to fulfill their promises and deliver it as soon as possible.

So over a year to just get an idea of what it should be, and now the software team will start working on it? Because you already didn't have an existing app, and a fairly decent one at that, from your previous partner to go off of as a prototype?
