It shouldn't, I haven't touched the sleep timer settings.
I think you just heavily discharged the device's battery. Any mobile device when the battery is almost dead need certain amount of time connected to power supply to be "brought back to life". It is strange to discharge almost new battery to this level in such a short time though, mostly it happens for old devices that are put into drawer for months

Possibly but it developed the issue whilst connected to a computer.

I have an issue where, after charging the device and unplugging the usb cable the read out of the charge bars stays the same, even after the device being fully charged. I have to power it off and back on to see the change in the upper right corner.

Based on these latest posts it really does feel like these new MTouch DAP's were rushed releases. Basically it went from no plans for updated models to coming soon in a short few months. Definitely feels like we should take a pause and wait for updates from Shanling before spending the money on either the M0 Pro or M1S. The Ingenics X1000 is a very old SOC now and I have to wonder how much of an issue it is playing with these reported issues.

Mine’s good. I had to get a higher spec microSD, but no odd behavior. I use it as a digital transport to a Mojo 2. I sometimes use it as a BT receiver. It’s snappier than the OG M0. The balanced adapter with the added power is very nice. It’s a worthy successor/update.

You’ll find a much higher perceived failure/malfunction rate on this thread. It’s where people post problems. Not many are going to say “mine’s fine”.

If you could provide us with any more details, it would be helpful. You can send us PM or email to info@shanling.com
If ti was once random event and it now works fine, it's bit hard to troubleshoot.

Are you using the device while charging? Or turned off charging?

I am using the M0 pro as a transport to Cayin RU6 and the battery on the M0 pro lasts only 2 hrs. I am wondering how the battery life is when used as a digital transport to Mojo 2? I assume it's bit better as Mojo is battery powered. And with the balanced connector, using it with over ear headphones as well, the battery life is sub par with around 2 hours. Not sure if my M0 pro is a defective unit or M0 pro is not capable of handling such loads.

If you are getting just 2 hours on balanced out (From full charge until device shuts off itself), that would be issue on battery and would recommend reaching out to your seller for warranty.

You are correct, if you aren't careful it will go from A to Z in a flash. The original M0 is much easier to control.
The original M0 was annoying when it first came out too, good thing Shanling is good at releasing updates. This should be the same with the Pro, it will be polished soon enough. Give it time. My only real concern is "when" when will there be a clip case for the PRO like the original M0. Best thing with the original M0 was being wearable.

I am usually charging the device while it is in standby mode (it was on by default and that's how I use it). I do not charge it while it's in use.

I had the RU6 and it does need considerable power from the source. I noticed that with my iPhone.

With the Mojo 2 and the M0 pro, I use it about 2 hours every night and recharge it every 3-4 days. And, there’s probably 1/3 power left. Theoretically, we should get near the max battery life using it with the Mojo 2. Same was true with the OG M0.

My only complaint is the lack of iOS support for Eddict and sync link. Any word on this @Shanling?

I bought 2 of the original M0s in May of 2018 (shortly after they became available and nearly 5 years ago). I honestly don't remember a scrolling problem with them, but could be. They are still going strong and for sound and portability still a 2 of my favorites.

Glad to hear and I see your point but being such a new release there can't be a ton out their yet and we are still seeing more than a few battery issue posts. A similar argument against can be made, how many buyers will know about this site and actually post their issues if they have any vs simply returning them? I think it would still be prudent to take a wait and see approach to see if this is a bigger issue once more units are in the buyers hands.

I would be happier if Shanling had sprung for the newer X2000 SOC like the M1S rather than the ancient X1000. The M0 Pro would cost me significantly more than the M0 did so a newer SOC would have been nice and I would have been willing to pay a little more for it to get the newer tech. I took a look at the specs for the X2000 which was released in 2020 and it is a big step up from the X1000 which I believe was released in 2015. Yes this is just a DAP but if I am springing for a new DAP I would like the most current tech and not much older tech. I guess one plus could be that Rockbox may be ported to the M0 Pro since they have been porting to X1000 based DAP's for several years.

Shanling has stated that the X2000 in the M1S gives them more room to grow with updates to the MTouch OS that likely won't be available on the M0 Pro. Once we know the price difference between the two models we can better judge if the M1S improvements are worth the higher price. Maybe we will see and M0 Pro-X at some point with the newer SOC.

For iOS support, not sure when it will be added, software team facing some issues on iOS boundaries.
