Hi,

Thanks a lot for your answer.

OK. My M0 reports 24/48 whatever I feed it with : 16/44, 24/48, 24/88 or 24/96.
Sometimes, with no real explanation, it displays sample rate correctly :frowning2:
Your M0 displays exactly what you are feeding it. If it is not what you expect then the source device is resampling it.

M0 shows what it gets. In this case you need to look into your source.

Hi,

My bad... For some reason, my OS decided to downsample everything to 16/44.
I just logged out and logged back in and also killed/restarted PulseAudio (I'm running Linux) and now all is fine :)
Sample rate displayed as it should. Bitrate not accurate, but that is normal you said. So no problem here :) Maybe a future update

Honestly, I cannot express how amazed I am with this device and it's functionalities for the price !

Concerning the sound saturation, that is bad news. That may mean that my headphone is defective. And I'd hate to have that as the Oppo brand has vanished and that the headphones cannot be serviced under those conditions :frowning2: I'll try to find some tool that can measure the output and see if that happens when the 0dB limit is reached.

But for the rest, I must say that this little thingy is a real steal and I really hope it will have a successor (maybe with an AK449x DAC chip :))

Regards.
Mine does the same thing re the display. Sometimes it doesn't change even though the sample rate is different than the previous song. At least according to JRMC.

Hi,

OK, I am posting this about the problem with possible sound saturation.

Here are the things I would like to say :
- 1°) those problem DOES NOT happen when the M0 is used as a USB DAC ;
- 2°) the problem only appears when the M0 is used as a BT receiver and the souce that is transmitting is set at FULL POWER. I experienced that with other Bluetooth receivers, so the problem is not the M0 but either the transmitter OR the Bluetooth implementation :frowning2:

I also just found out that I can connect the M0 to my computer with USB to charge it without interrupting the LDAC Bluetooth reception. That is a really good news

Regards.

Guys, my Shanling M0 started malfunctioning today. It just keeps pausing tracks after a few seconds when they start. I've upgraded the firmware to 3.5 from 3.4 but the same problem persists. Has anyone had this problem? What should I do??

Apart from testing different card and factory reset, can you please also try it with Bluetooth headphones, to see if this problem will continue?

Hi, Everyone!
I've purchased a Shanling M0 and while it's not my main device, It's actually great for what it does and the multipurpose of it is awesome. So I've been dealing with bug where it would crash when updating music. As a software engineer, this lead to a witch hunt to find the bugs (including disassembly of the software). And now, today I found the cause of the issue.
It seems like the library that shanling system is using for managing tags does not support multiple Artworks. I have some ripped cd where I added the scans for the booklet and the covers and it seems it's not something that it likes. Now I remove them and everything is scanning fine. Never thought the scanning would be useful, but it is when you got to about 9000 tracks.
Have a good day!

HI, if you could please send us one or two of these problematic files, I will get them to our software team, so they can adjust the scan. Thanks

I've already edited the tags and I can't share the media unfortunately. I use Music (on MacOS) and just added the multiple images. But they can try with any aac or mp3 file with multiples artworks.

Hey! I had experienced this a long time ago and since then I make a habit of storing only 1 image per file and also not having more than 1 .jpg file in any folder (but for sure i have missed some).
I also noticed that it matters what the image is called (not the file, but the tag type). If mp3tag shows: "front cover", everything is fine. But on many tracks, for some reason the image is tagged "other", "back", "cover" "artwork" or "folder" instead of "front cover". (you need a program like mp3tag to see this, the image file name is not important). The files with cover tags other than "front cover" will not display an image on playback. Images sized 1000x1000 pixels or larger often (but not always) do not show. I automatically resize them with mp3tag to 950x950 pixels and that seems to work fine on firmware 3.5. Earlier versions behave differently.
I have massive problems updating my library, with multiple crashes at every attempt, typically not consistent or predictable and sometimes succeeding after 3 or 4 tries. Unfortunately, it is impossible to nail the file that is the culprit, although i did notice that the M0 often crashes after the exact same number of files updated (e.g. 17008).
I will have to go through all 23000 files and see if there are any left with 2 images or more. It might help, thanks for reminding me!

I think the software use the same algorithm as the command tree on linux for traversing the directory. I found the culprit by viewing which album has been added (my folder organisation is Artist>Album) then narrowing it down from there.
