So just got the H7, so far fantastic sounding dac/amp paired with my Meze 109 Pro, Audeze LCD-XC & Senn HD650. With plenty of power to spare. Upgraded firmware to 1.5 and noticing a few strange iPhone issues.

1. I paired it with the Eddict player and plays fine when using SD card. Fantastic feature and sound quality. Hope Eddict player gets some upgrades for search in future and more alphabetical scrolling, plus cover albums.
2. When using my iPhone in Bluetooth to stream music it defaults to SBC instead of AAC after I paired it with Eddict player.
3. When using USB direct to iPhone I love that the Eddict Player still controls the DAC volume and unit controls. But would be awesome if you can actually use it to control the play/pause/next track thru Eddict.
4. Also when using USB direct I am unable to pause or go to next track using the control wheel. Only when in TF Card mode. Hope this feature works for USB mode in future.

Great solid unit overall with a few wish list items.

2. We are aware of this problem. It's caused when the connection is initiated from the side of H7, iOS is not able to recognize it correctly and switches to SBC.
If you initiate connecting from side of iOS, it will connect correctly as AAC. So easiest fix for now is to reconnect from side of iOS if it ever shows as SBC.
This is something software team should be able to fix with firmware update.

3 and 4, such functions are harder to implement and can be widely affected by which playback software you are running. It's something we added to our UA3, but have no plans to be dealing with it on H7, for now at least.

Can you write a few words about the ME900 and the connection to the H7? I am considering buying these iems.

Have you listened to the ME800, can you compare?
The ME900 as I like the most is in combination with the H7.
I think their synergy is magical.
The set sounds very musical, addictive, with good midrange presence, dynamism and very good detail.

I haven't heard of the ME800, but liking the H7 so much, I blindly bought the ME900, and I couldn't be happier.
I think that the way I like them the most is in Clear mode... although I have to try more.

You already know that it is the subject of the audio, all the comments are very personal.

you have to try it yourself.

Best Regards

Two short questions:
1. I dont see this player being sold here in the Netherlands. Are there places that sell internationally and are legit?
2. Pardon my ignorance but i read in a few threads the difference between mqa unfolding at 8x and 16x. What does this mean in practical use hwen using this unit with tidal and mqa?
Thanks in advance for any info,
Greetings, Anouk,

Just read through the user manual for this unit. Is the gain setting remembered when you turn the unit off and on or will you need to put it back after reboot?
Is the sync function turned on by default?
Greetings, Anouk,
All settings are remembered after switching on/off. If you set a high gain, then it will always be high. You can do a full reset settings, only then everything will reset to default.

Greetings, Anouk,

1. For Netherlands, you can reach out to our distributor https://duneblue.com/
They have H7 on their current order, so should be in stock shortly.

2. MQA 8x will unpack the MQA file and play it at 384 kHz sampling rate, while MQA 16x would play it at 768 kHz sampling rate.
In practical use, there is no difference. In regards to sound quality difference, that's something we would recommend to ask at MQA.

Just read through the user manual for this unit. Is the gain setting remembered when you turn the unit off and on or will you need to put it back after reboot?

Greetings, Anouk,

All settings on H7 are kept in memory, it will boot to whatever you last used.

@Shanling I have been facing an issue with H7’s USBC connector. It’s loose. Any small movement of phone and H7 is causing music playback to stop. No problem when kept stationary, but whenever it’s moved, connection gets interrupted and music stops playing. I have heard from a friend of mine having same issue. Tried with stock cable and ddHiFi MFi09s cable. Same with both. Provide me a solution for this issue.

If it's caused by the problematic connector on H7, please contact your seller for warranty.
