output on dac is ILout+ ILout- IRout+ IRout-, this enough to config truly balanced
how can the DAC out 4 signals by 2 channels?output on dac is ILout+ ILout- IRout+ IRout-, this enough to config truly balanced
normally, ic dac has 4 channels signal with Iout,(L+ , L-, R+, R-), you can use both ILout+ and ILout- for i/v stage to combine VLout or seperate ILout+ to VLout+ for fully balancedhow can the DAC out 4 signals by 2 channels?
The DAC chip only outputs single ended, that is correct. For it to be "truly balanced" you would need all 4 channels.
It can still have an Amp driving the headphones balanced though, as a lot of amplifier topologies can split the phase. It's not overly complicated to make a circuit that takes a single ended input and outputs a balanced signal.
Oh alright, somehow slipped my mind to check that. Yeah, a differential output is balanced.Isn't a differential output balanced? That's what the spec sheets say (2 channel, differential output).
I just got to spend a few minutes earlier with H7. Sq playing from the card is great, no issues at all with it. Checked vs the file stored on my iPhone and played via a USB cable and checked vs a streamed version of the track and all were similar quality. If possible, please let us know how well this works playing music direct off SD card inserted into the H7.
A level below M9 I would say on initial impressions but I need to spend a lot more time with this for brain/device burn-in. It is reasonably detailed. It is making things sound more v-shaped at present. A definite emphasis on mid and sub-bass with more treble energy. I haven't heard M7 but from the impressions I've read, I would say H7 is closer to that. This is with an hour of use though and I never like sharing very early impressions as they can change quite a bit with more time. Still haven't managed to get the app working with it yet. Not sure if it is something I am not doing or if there is something up with it.So how does it sound? How does it compare with M7,M8,M9 or other daps?

So nothing like SP3K? Meaning that it’s mainly marketing
I can't say as I haven't heard SP3K. I can only compare it to what I have or have heard from memory, which I will in due course but I am not making any claims about it with only 1 hour of use time. I have realistic expectations for it though and will judge it on its price vs performance rather than against a $3700 DAP.So nothing like SP3K? Meaning that it’s mainly marketing
Awesome, thank you! Yeah, my interest in this is solely for use as a "stand-alone" (well, not really as a phone is needed to act as a sort of remote control) device. I do not want to use it as a dongle, nor do I want to use bluetooth audio.I just got to spend a few minutes earlier with H7. Sq playing from the card is great, no issues at all with it. When you swap to the SD card mode it just starts playing the first track on the card and goes from there. You can play/pause or skip the track back or forward but there are no other controls or information on the display. I installed the app but I haven't been able to get it working yet. Need to spend more time with it.
