@Shanling Will the H7eventually be available on your Amazon US store? If so, do you have any idea of the timeframe? Thank you.

Does H7 use only one AK4499EX?

@Shanling

According to a UK retailer, the UK distributor is not getting any H7 for UK

Very disappointed 😞
Hope there is a change of stance on this (if true) importing to the UK is a costly process
Buy from MT and you won't get the costly add on. :wink:

Interesting, I have q7, and h7 has similar spec, not as powerful, but I am curious how it’s AKM dac sound vs q7’s ess dac.
probably some reviewers have the luxury to compare these two.

Received my H7 today, and have listened to it for maybe 25 minutes now. So far I’ve tried it with UM Mest Mk II and JH Audio16v2 iems. It sounds great! Need more listening time but initial impressions are very good. I might even like it better than my A&K SP2000T DAP.

For reference I am pairing it with an iPhone 12 Mini as a transport (and Roon endpoint).

If possible,please let us know how well this works playing music direct off SD card inserted into the H7.

The AK4499EX is 2-channel DAC, so if H7 uses 1 chip, how can it produce a truly balanced signal? Because I thought that we need at least 4 channels for L+ L- R+ R-?

Not sure if they claimed that the DAC section is balanced but the amp section is.

The DAC chip only outputs single ended, that is correct. For it to be "truly balanced" you would need all 4 channels.

It can still have an Amp driving the headphones balanced though, as a lot of amplifier topologies can split the phase. It's not overly complicated to make a circuit that takes a single ended input and outputs a balanced signal.
