I just received my ET3 yesterday and the first 3 CDs I listened to were mixed so all tracks run together and I did not hear any gaps. I actually was pretty worried when I saw your post as I original had planned to get the EC Mini, but that isn't gapless, so ended up getting this instead specifically for that reason (and looking to get the Moondrop as a portable player if that ever becomes available unless the EC Mini gapless situation changes, and then that, as on paper that looks like a dream come true)
I pretty tried hard to hear any gaps across the 3 CDs but couldn't detect one. I'm on firmware 1.6 (what it shipped with).

I don't see where the Moodrop is gapless on CD specifically. It could very well be like the EC Mini and be gapless on SD card only.
I'm unsure why gapless is so challenging on modern CDT/CDP. My NOS Sony Discman from the 90s is gapless. It could be due to the fact that Redbook CD only mechanisms are hard to find or no longer made and the inexpensive option is to use CD ROM mechanisms.

I agree, I am totally mystified by this. I still have two multidisc players which are gapless. I still use one, although pretty much exclusively for stuff like Grateful Dead multidisc releases so I don't have to change the discs.
There are a lot of secondhand Discmans available, although the ones that I have looked at that are refurbed with some sort of warranty behind them only have headphones out. I'd only get one with line out where the line out doubles as optical. Just need to break down and take a chance on an eBay I guess.
I've seen it mentioned in reviews, that would be a real drag if it wasn't.

Mine has a Line Out. The earlier Discman players had line out and headphone. It actually sounds phenomenal from the line out. We used it as a source to a EL84 tube amp driving Klipsch Cornwalls (new version). The soundstage was tall and holographic. It was scary good. The 1 bit Sony DAC was no slouch. I think we just kinda panned it back then because how good could a CD player be that you bought in a blister pack at Walgreens? Turns out it was very good.
The EC Mini was also incredibly good out of the line out. It's just the lack of gapless that is frustrating.

Hi there, I'd like to purchase the ET3 here in the U.S., but they are showing as sold out on the MusicTeck website.
Are there any other U.S. retailers that currently have it in stock?
