You can always use an adapter to coax as well. That’s the beauty of digital outputs.

SMSL D400 Pro has both AES and I2S. Cost around $600 at the moment. Just waiting for my ET3 and will test all outputs

Look forward to hearing your impressions!
I will still try AES/EBU to AES/EBU but for the Chord Qutest DAC I got this cable to compare.
Posted the wrong cable, sorry

If you look at the first post by @Shanling , yes it is.Ummmm is that a female AES/EBU output connector on the back of ET3?
Have a look at the manual too, if you like: openwin.shanling.com:9000/pdf/sms/ET3V1.2.pdf which can be accessed here: https://en.shanling.com/download/105
ET3 side of AES/EBU is male connector, as is standard for AES/EBU. (Three prongs on the side of ET3)Ummmm is that a female AES/EBU output connector on the back of ET3?
You should use such cable for connection to DAC:
Have any question about our players? Just PM me or send me email.

hah, i guess i knew yggy did in the back of my mind but >2k for a dac is simply not on my radar. i bet they sound great tho!Yggdrassil has AES/EBU.

yggy GS makes it a litttttle more interesting (well, a lot more interesting) but still probably on the wrong side of the value/perf line for my personal finances and priorities
yes! digital is beautiful like that. i was not directly aware of aesebu/coax adaptors but not surprising and they probably work perfectly

@Shanling Is there any other thread for feature requests?
@Shanling More issue on ET3 freeze after airplay mode:
The player can switch to airplay mode automatically when being streamed to by an Airplay source device like a phone running Roon or other music app, but if the player is turned off to standby mode, after it exits standby mode, it stuck in Airplay mode, CD won’t play or resume Airplay unless power recycle the unit.
It seems the ET3 don’t clean up itself after Airplay mode. Even after using the physical Mode button to cycle out to a different mode say BT or CD mode, the play often still freeze and needs to be power cycled.

will any old XLR cable work or is it like coax spdif where the impedance is sensitive?ET3 side of AES/EBU is male connector, as is standard for AES/EBU. (Three prongs on the side of ET3)

Impedance sensitive.
That being said, I'm using an audioquest MacKenIe XLR I had lying around without issues.

@Shanling Sadly, I seem to be facing the same issue. Previously, i do not recall having this issue. I cannot even connect on AirPlay when I bring the ET-3 from standby mode. Only thing that will work is to switch off and on again.@Shanling More issue on ET3 freeze after airplay mode:
