Shanling ET3 - Dedicated Digital CD Transport, With USB Drive and Wi-Fi Support

Hi does shanling have a suggestion where to get those custom cables and could you provide the correct pin layout for these cables. Or even better could you supply these cables?

Kind regards.
We do not make custom cables, sorry.

In my personal experience, you can check with your local Hi-Fi dealers. Most of time they have contacts for small cable builders or even make custom cables in-house.

On the cable, you would have to switch whichever pin position is not matching (for the Topping it seems it would have to be pins 15,16 and maybe the grounding pin).

The R26 will play these files, but it will show on display as PCM 88 or higher.

According to our engineers, you need to get a custom cable to get it fully working.
Can you answer this question?

The Gustard uses pin15 to switch between PCM and DSD. 0 is PCM and 1 is DSD.

The Shanling has DSD_DET on pin16. It is the question if this also is used to switch between PCM and DSD. So 0 for PCM and 1 for DSD.

Yes, it's using the same standard, just different pin.

Shanling is there any chances to support by ET3 Tidal, Spotify etc. in near future? I really like upsampling feature and I wanna use it with Tidal . BTW I have made custom cable for i2s and it works flawlessly with SMSL D400EX dac ! IMG_20230811_170724.jpg

I do not know if there are enough owners out there for me to get any feedback on my concern but I have to ask if anyone else has experienced a momentary audible dropout during the first minute or so of playback after loading a cd. If left playing, subsequent tracks being played do not have the same problem. Multiple cds do have the same problem. Switching coax interconnects made no difference.

I have yet to hear anything back from Shanling/MusicTeck on a possible cause or solution. Depending on what I do hear from them or what I hear here, I may need to request an exchange or return. The problem is causing me to be hesitant about buying that custom i2S interconnect. It's a shame. I am otherwise very pleased with how this transport sounds with the Gustard.

Shanling, any support for Hiby link ? Tidal connect ?
HiBy Link? We are different company, so that would be no. We have our SyncLink feature in Eddict Player app.

At this time we have DLNA and AIrplay running over Wi-Fi, not yet sure if we can implement Tidal Connect into our simple system.

So how can i use tidal and spotify on ET3 ? You can add support in Eddict Player after all.

You can use Tidal and Qobuz with a DLNA app, like Mconnect, it works fine. It would be more convenient if Shanling add these services in Eddict player, Tidal connect would also be helpful. I was wondering if, with a future firmware update, it would be possible to implement cdtext. I have had the ET3 for a couple of weeks now and find it to be a very well built and complete machine, with good sound quality. As is normal, there is still something to do at the firmware level. I'm counting on Shanling.

I have dropouts around the tenth second of the first number.

I've only used two outputs of the ET3 so far, I2S and USB. With I2S it has this problem, with USB it doesn't, everything works perfectly. I guess it's something Shanling can fix with a firmware update.
