I have the helmet that would go perfectly with

This reminds me the audio brochures that big box audio stores like Tech Hifi and Crazy Eddies kept for their customers back in the 1970's, when Japanese electronics dominated the industry. On one side of the brochure you'd usually find a photo of the gear, while on the other you'd find the specifications for it.

This looks very interesting! Will it come in Black and Silver colors? Or just black? I see conflicting pictures in the web.

Also, let me get this straight: you can connect it via USB (A to B) for CD playback to the DAC? I was not aware of any CD transports connected to DAC via USB (A to B standard).

Looks like it comes in silver or black. Yes, you can use its USB outputs to connect it to a dac. Actually, this is the most full featured CD transport I have ever seen,
given all.of its different outputs. It sure is getting a lot of interest.

I'm looking forward to this, too. I've emailed the US retailer to inquire about availability. I got an Audiolab CDT6000 transport this year and as a by product of it's great sound I fetched 300 or so CDs (out of 800) out of my attic. And, I've had to fill in that with some used purchases, as well. I've even bought a few brand new CDs.

I streamed Qobuz non-stop for probably 2-years and since hearing how good my CDs could sound through a dedicated transport I haven't hardly fired up Roon more than once or twice in 2-months.

I still have 500 vinyl LPs that I cherish as well. But when I used a CD Player as a transport it never sounded very engaging. Now, with a dedicated CD transport I'm pretty shocked at the great sound.

I still have some LPs as well as CD's. I also stream a lot of music simply out of convenience. In this regard I've found that digital streaming content varies considerably and can make a huge difference (good or bad) pertaining to how my audio system sounds. As such, I've found that once you assemble a good quality audio system the real challenge becomes finding quality digital source material, since much of it leaves a lot to be desired. The same can be said for vinyl.

It's available in both black and silver.

And yes, the USB out is available even for CD Playback. Only limitation of USB out is that it can't use the upsampling feature.

This is very exciting news!
I have just bought an Audiolab 9000 CDT (great sound!) but because I have a large CD collection and several dacs, I will consider the ET3 in a future purchase.
Although I normally dislike half size components, the ET3 has three very strong arguments:
- top loading
- I2S output
- AES/EBU output
The upsampling feature and USB output will be other points of interest.
Hopefully the ET3 built quality will be surprising as well :)

Two questions:
- do you know if the I2S output works with the Denafrips (Pontus II) DACs?
- can the display be turned off?

It looks like official Shanling page on Ali Express (China) is already shipping this worldwide to individual purchasers

I don't understand the PC/Phone out to the ET3. The ET3 would be the source from the CD, isn't it?

For Denafrips, if they use standard i2s and not some proprietary solution, it should work fine.
On the screen turning off, that's something our software team didn't include yet, but they received some requests for it.

ET3 can be transport for different digital sources, it's NOT just CD player.
So from phone you can run it over Bluetooth/DLNA/Airplay and then use digital out to DAC.

I really like the compactness of the ET3. Traditional CD players take up so much room. The ET3 will easily
fit on anyone's desktop. And then there's the significant feature set which further enhances this piece of gear.

I have several dac's, so when my Onkyo C7030 stops working I will seriously consider buying an ET3.

Does this have a puck that hold the CD in place to stabilize it?
