Thanks for your replies, I don't think, that such sensistive IEMs benefit that much of an amp, so that the Shadow should fit.

Atm money is a problem (especially because of the iPhone 4...), but I will keep the eyes open for a Shadow, maybe a Tomahawk oder iQube (if the price is good).

The iPhone 4 might not need an amp. Even the 3GS is already good. An amp will of course make things better but it don't think it is a must for an iPhone. I only use my iQube at work or home with my SR325is and sometimes with ES3X (when my wive cook or do something noisy). If I travel, my 3GS + ES3X is really enough considering its size and quality. Not the best but near the best.

Yes I will use the IEMs unamped with the iPhone, but I'm looking for a setup for my PC.
I just wanted to say in my previous post, that I'll first spend money on the iPhone 4 and I'll buy an amp later (because money isn't unlimited).

And what about the ALO Rx? How does it compare to the D4/Pico Slim/RSA Shadow? It looks nice, too.

Secound (still open) question - can I get for the price of my iBasso D4 a better stand-alone DAC?

You can buy a FUBAR IV, its a really nice dac with 96KHz/24 bit resolution (via optical). I use it with my macbook pro and use the line out to the iQube. I think FUBAR is cheaper than D4. I got it for 100 euro.

Thanks again for all your replies.

Now it's done, after this thread and a lot of research in this forum I decided to order the RSA Shadow. Ray told me, that i'll be shipped today. With a little bit of luck I'll receive it this week :).

The D4 will probably keep for a while as DAC, as I don't see any reasons to change it now. Maybe later, but I hope the Shadow will satisfy me.
