That's what they'd like us to believe I'm sure. But from what I've heard and seen, it's made out of cheaper plastic, has inline Dolby Virtual Surround (which I don't want, since I'm getting a MixAmp which outperforms it), and it's got the same drivers as the 350.

They should definitely reconsider the discontinuation.

The PC360 was a great headset. Too bad my mic cord broke after just 1 year, but to be honest my desk was yanking on it all the time without me realizing it. I used it to Skype chat and all of my friends said they've never heard such a crystal clear mic like that before. Sound wise they're equal with the 555 and maybe 595, but not as good as 598 for sure. \
 
The 363D comes with a 7.1 sound card, but you can still use the headset without it. But yeah they should make a version without it, seems like Sennheiser is taking the whole surround sound thing way too seriously.

nothing wrong with astro and steel series but there is better options out there. Guess if you haven't tried a lot of headsets you won't know what you are missing. I once bought a g35 logitec thought it was ok well sorta. Until I tried better headset/phones I then threw the g35's in the bin they were terrible and promised myself I would never buy any gaming headsets again and stick with the likes of senns/beyers decent headphone company's.
