Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 3 Impressions Thread

Would it be possible for a setting that would let more of my own voice in during a phone call? Yeah it would prob mean more ambient sound as well, but I would really like to hear my own voice at a greater volume.
Will forward these suggestions onward 👍

Any plats to release a APTX Adaptive USB transmitter (successor to the BT T100?) now Qualcomm finally have SoCs that supports ATPX Adaptive transmitting? My current USB dongle from Aliexpress is decent for the price, but would love a proper transmitter with great software/hardware! :)

I second this request. Sidetone is important to me for calls, even with only one ear in. My B&W PI7s and Galaxy Buds allow ambient noise in and it really helps with comfort. I also love this feature on my Shure MV7 mic that I use for Zoom. It makes a big difference.

The other feature I would request be considered (if it doesn't do this already) is automatically turning on ambient mode when you pause music. Shure did this for the TW2 adapter and it is really convenient.

Finally, I saw some stores are opening up preorders for the white version of the MTW3. Any idea when those will start shipping?

Doable—set the transparent hearing mode to "Pause Music". Then, with one tap on the L bud you get a pause command and ambient mode all at once. Screenshot of the setting attached.

Edit: not sure about when the white colorway will ship but will check; colorways rarely lag in availability but not all dealers carry all colors right away.

Cannot comment on speculative products (whether real or not). Curious: Which model transmitter do you have?

Hello ericpalonen

Yep they removed Sidetone on the 3s for some reason and would be a good feature to have back . But I think it should be implemented differently compared to the 2s. Instead of a setting in the app on or off it should be built into the transparency mode as well and only
Works in certain conditions .eg

When music is playing tap transparency mode on bud = pauses music and turns on the hearing for mics. This already works as we know. .

But this is how sidetone should work when your on a phone call

A few features would like to see added and improved are

1. Again press the mode for transparency on the bud but this time all it does is activates side tone when your actually on a call and the user can decide if they want it on or off with a tap when on a call

I think that world work better than having it on or off all the time and entering the app to decide like that did on the 2s.

2. The 3s are blowing my mind these are very good sound wise and the ANC I think is just as good as the Sonys but they need another option of always on ANC and not just adaptive. sometimes I don’t listen to music and use it to stop hearing people and I can hear the ANC moving up and down and not keen on it.

3. The mics still are way to sensitive to air movement and you don’t get this on phone calls believe it or not but when listen to music they sent good for it. They need to try and make that better.

4. Also need a battery percentage on the apple indicator or add it to the app not good keep opening and closing the lid to see what the battery level is

5. Also they need to turn of the lee when fully charged I don’t know why the case led stays on all the time when fully charged

6. Need to add some sort of auto connecting sorting in the app as they always try to connect to my 2s first and I have to manually pick the 3s. Maybe a user option to pick there main headset.

6. App is very buggy seems slow and seems to make My iPhone hot. Needs improved.

7. This is a huge one that needs to be addressed quickly is the volume up and down it’s way way way to much of a jump between adjustments
On my iPhone from 0 to 100 percent volume is 6 steps that’s no where near enough adjustments it jumps way to much it needs I would say 20 steps I nearly blew my ear drum out because the volume was low and needed a little more but jumped something like 20% and nearly blew my ear drum. They need to address this asap as 6 steps needs to be changed to 20 steps meaning 5% volume increases per step not 20%. Have to revert back to my phone as on now.

@ ericpalonen I noticed you have your transparency in your images the same level as me lol strange that. I had to move it up some as well about 80 percent. Can you forward these ideas to Sennheiser if that’s possible thanks.

To people who exercise these are the best I have had. I noticed with the Sony xm4 every time my foot hit the flow when running you got very bad vibration into the ear how do Sony call these good for sports I never know as there the worst I have had for this.

The tm2s are much better and reducing this but it’s still there but not as bad as the Sonys. Now the 3s have the wing tip things and it nearly stops it altogether and if having music on you just to get that thud anymore when running I hated this on the Sonys and was manageable on the 2s but the 3s are excellent for this. Not to sure on other activities but excellent for running.

Been trying to find new tips for these any one recommends some tips that don't destroy the sound and ANC. I am having trouble with a seal at times as sometimes i can get a good seal and other times i just cannot get one. I use the mediums but the large and small just don't give me a good seal full stop no matter how many times i try them and only the mediums are a hit and miss more times a good seal so looking at something to get a good seal all the time,

thanks

I sent an email before ericpalonen got the sizes for use but Got the tip sizes from Sennheiser

Medium: 12mm width, 10mm depth

Large: 15mm width, 10mm depth

Strange how it’s different to ericpalonen

I bit the bullet and upgraded to the 3's. Wow, 100% worth it! I much prefer the sound profile on these. Just at stock EQ it has more clarity, more open yet very focussed and punchy. When I want the bass, this has it in spades!
Fit is definitely much better and I can tell that I could wear these for much longer without any pain. I'm not use to buds with the wing bits so I've left what they came with for now and will try a few different ones soon.
For now, time to listen to music and put them to work on some video calls for work.

Welcome to the #MTW3Club! Totally agree about the bass. It has a warm bass profile with some juicy slam. Glad you're enjoying!

Well I’m in the MTW3 club as well now. I didn’t like the earlier Sennheiser TWS before the 3 (sorry….) so I was skeptical about it. I’m so glad I gave them a try because I absolutely love them, my favorite TWS to date. Had the Sony xm4 before it and the Sennheiser is clearly a level up in both tuning and technicalities.
Especially the tuning is spot on for my tastes, very nice. I also welcome the price drop to 249€, with a product that’s destined to be thrown away when the battery dies 300€ or more is hard to swallow. That is also why I avoid b&o offerings no matter how good they might sound.
Had a long session with them yesterday night and will test the ANC today in the train.

Now I’m just very eagerly waiting for a new over ear momentum 😁

Still love these as well. My overall favorite TWS buds so far, I think (and god knows I've tried many). Sound is great as is fit and volume! Previously sorely missing features on the MTW2 like wireless charging and individual bud usage, as well as better ANC make these really a competitive product. Good that they dropped the price to 249 as well.

They still need to iron out some bugs and quirks and improve on a couple of things, though (e.g. too sensitive mics with regard to wind noise, or sudden loud sounds like closing a car door etc.). I would also like to have the sidetone feature back! Is there are reason why this very handy feature has been removed in the first place? And hopefully they rather quickly implement multipoint bluetooth as they said they would. Keep the firmware updates coming!

So, how are people EQ'ing the MTW3 so far? I have been using the stock EQ all the time and have now put a +2db to the "highs" in the app as I feel the highs might be ever so slightly underemphasized in the stock EQ compared to the lows and mids. Sounds great, I think.

What do you guys use?
