I wrote that I will give a feedback when my 2.5mm replacement connector arrives and is replaced. This happened now. The result after replacing it: No more volume loss when touching or turning the 2.5mm connector on my momentum

.
Here are some pics:

before replacement: It looks the same as the original one
for those who have never seen the driver

All necessary tools: Soldering Iron, Solder, Unsoldering copper-band (+philipps screwdriver)

My universal cable (the one without the remote) suddenly stopped to work on the left side. It does not present any physical dommage, and fortunately, only costs about 15€...

I am worried because it was only 6 months old.

Should I upgrade to a better cable? I see a few nice silver cables on ebay, like that :

I'm about to get a Momentum over-ear (headset & cables only) for $99. The dealer said these are on sale, but it's so cheap so I gotta ask what do you guys think? Do they look genuine enough?

Also, what about the replacement 3.5 cables for this headset? I heard they alone retails for $50-60, is that true? Are there any compatible cables or the connector design is unique? Thanks in advance

It's my first audiophile headset so I can't really tell

I don't see anything weird on those pics. Looks genuine enough.

I don't see anything weird about the price. Momentum retails for about 170€ brand new, used from 80-120.

I bought original cables for 12€. The one that doesn't have mic. Mic one costs 80€ in my area.

Same, looks genuine enough for me, look at the leather quality for example... no?
And for the price i brought mine 120€ last december (before momentum 2.0) so .... seems legit

I got the same questions. The one at 36$ picked my interest.

Hi there rosmadi....
biggrin.gif

Sorry for the bother... Just a quick question.... Is sennheiser thinking on discontinuing the first gen of on and over ear momentums or they will continue to be produced despite the introduction of the m2?

Cheers...

Hi Pedro,

It's likely that we'll discontinue the first gen MOMENTUM models.

Hope this helps!

Thank you very much Rosmadi.

It's a pitty the ear cup size, i really liked the first momentum.... the custom angle jack cable and the case are really pieces of art....
I agree. I still have them and enjoy the sound but they really missed the mark with the cup size. I have average to small ears and they are just too small. Its a shame because the leather is soooo soft.

+1 I have the M2 arriving today. They say sound is just as good if not a little better and that the ear pads are even softer. With what I paid and sold the M1 for it only cost me
$138 for the M2 so not a bad deal.
