Hi Guys,

Sorry if already disscussed, I want to ask about Alo Audio SXC 24 extention cable with 2.5mm balanced ended.whether someone already tried and kindly give short impression?

Thanks!

I think that to get balanced, you need to get the version from ALO, which has cut and changed the plug at the split.

Hi George,

I see... so cannot be just buy the extention and plug it to original ie800. Thanks for your explanation

Yep, just as George said, you would need to get the full mod in case you really want to go balanced (the original Sennheiser Y-split plug is just TRS and you would need TRRS).

I wonder if they'll come up with an IE800S with a balanced cable and a little attenuation at 10kHz :D

There are enough dull and less exciting IEMs out there. Let's not dampen down the ie800 :)

There are even more eye-blinkingly crispy IEMs as well, but indeed. It's definitely not harsh.

I have a very hard time finding a very good IEM to take outside, instead of Ie800, because I want to protect ie800, as they have those helmholtz resonators and it seems as if the dusty air of Bucharest might affect ie800 in time.

The thing is, all lower tier and even other high tier IEMs and almost all closed back headphones are so boring when it comes to crisp and sparkly sound. They all sound dark in comparation. I wish that more headphones and IEMs would be created with a similar signature.

I would never want to dampen this exciting sound. There are moments, when I even add a bit more treble to them.
