I can vouch for Vesper audio, They did the mmcx mod on my ie800 for about £100... totally over the moon with there work, 1st class service
I'll 2nd that. My IE800 with MMCX connectors are "keep for life" IEMs.

My Sennheiser proprietary original tips for my IE800s have torn due to wear, and they are out of stock in my size (L) at Sennheiser (they still have other sizes). I don’t want to change to another tip… any ideas of where to get these? Thanks!

The Kevlar cable got too stiff, so I had them converted a few months ago. Glad my friend agreed to do it after a lot of prodding. Maybe I should‘ve gone custom but I also wanted other folks to be able to hear how these are with the mod.

There's a Sennheiser video from earlier this year (or last year) in which they described how the IE-800 and IE-800S were built essentially by hand, whereas with the 600 and 900 they went to a more industrial / assembly line type production. I think in a sense they are a higher-end product and it wouldn't surprise me if that's true of the sound as well. I haven't heard the new ones long enough to have an opinion though... I haven't felt the need to buy another IEM after the 800S.

There are a ton of 800 vs 800s impressions in the 800S thread, you could look there.

By the way, sorry, I didn't mean to suggest you don't already have a good thing with the IE-800. I just meant that if you're enjoying it, it might be wroth keeping an eye for a good condition 800S down the line.

Gotta say I still love these IEM's after many years. I was an early adopter of ie800 (day they were released) and I still like them better than ie800s. I had the ie800 modified to mmcx by Vesper about a year ago, and then had custom tips made by .ADV that really improved things. The reason I had the mmcx conversion done was that I always hated the original wired cable from Sennheiser which had the worst microphonics of any cable I ever used. The cable I'm using now is Vesper's Legato which is a great match for these. Here are some pics if anyone is interested. Any questions, just send me a message.
