I currently have the Senn IE6 and use with my Iphone4 and Fiio e7 via LOD
 
Mainly listen to :
 
MUSE
Depeche Mode
Gorillaz
 
Question : would the IE7's be a big upgrade from the IE6's ?
 
Budget cant quite stretch to the IE8'S at the moment, is it worth waiting ?
 
Any advise gratefully received

From what I've read, there's not a significant diference between the IE6 and IE7. Obviously there would be a quality difference, but most people are content with the IE6 than the $100+ extra to upgrade to IE7. I would personally save up to get the IE8. And remember, even if you get the IE7 you'll want to get the IE8 after that Decision's yours, good luck

IE7 focuses more on mids than the slightly V shaped frequency curve of the IE6. IE8 and IE6 share the same sound sig, while the IE7 has more of a Shure sound to them.

i think the ie7 and ie8 are big steps up from the ie6.. now ie7 and ie8 both deliver different things so go for the one that appeals more.

IE7 and IE8 are both a significant step up from the IE6.
 
The IE7 is very neutral while the IE8 is much more warm and bassy.  Which one you like more is going to depend on your taste.

From reading reviews, I haven't heard the Panas, they and the IE7 appears to be quite similar, neutral with slight mids focus.

the 900's are certainly not neutral, a powerful dramatic sound.  big powerful bass and sharp forward highs.  its interesting but i cant say im a fan and not really anything like the ie7
