Can you send a photo? What did you find to be the main differences?
Can’t send you a photo because I would have to take them apart to do that. There are photos of the inside of these headphones on the internet and the two wires are easy to see. As far as the main difference they are way smoother on top no harshness at all full sounding solid they sound now like they always should of. I believe most who have had a problem with them would not with this small change. If you actually see the little wires it would make more sense they are very tiny but I have to admit I did not think changing them would so transform this headphone for the better.

Just noticed that my HD800s is getting pretty dusty (though I use it multiple times per week) - does that impact the soundstage at all? Not sure if the dust particles clog up the ultra fine mesh of the metal housing and therefore choke the headphone into being more closed-sounding than it should be?

And how do you guys clean up dust on the headphone? I am reluctant to use a vacuum cleaner for fear of the suction force damaging the driver...

What's the consensus on amazing tube amps for the 800s? Price range up to let's say $1000

That's a tight budget for a good quality valve amp. Maybe the Zen Triode from Decware would be the closest. I haven't heard one but they seem to be highly regarded, but most importantly it's a triode amp which I do believe is the best partner for the HD800S in comparison to pentode, tetrode, and so forth.

New to the forum (Hi!) Just got my 800S and burning them in with Korg's finest VA 😉 . Do most of you stay on stock pads or swap them (if so to what) ? Cheers 🤙

Love the SV, can't go wrong with any Korg honestly. Tbt only listened to prerecorded music the little time I had them, plugging into the microkorg shone new light on this beast of a synth 😍 I must now resurrect my old analogues 👆
